Hyderabad: Telangana Police, along with Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL), the company behind Goodknight, conducted a raid in Hyderabad to curb the sale of counterfeit Goodknight LV products in the region. The raid, carried out with support from GCPL’s investigation agency, marked a crucial step in curbing the spread of fake mosquito repellent products in the market.
Based on actionable intelligence, the local police and investigative teams conducted a raid at Jambagh on a wholesaler stocking a supply of fake Goodknight refills. During the search, authorities seized 3,600 counterfeit Goodknight refills.
FIRs have been lodged against the accused, and authorities are now tracking the distribution links and supply networks associated with this unit to prevent further circulation of such hazardous products in Uttar Pradesh and adjoining states. This action stands as a warning to those dealing in counterfeit goods and reflects GCPL’s commitment to protecting consumer trust.
Ashwin Moorthy, CMO, Godrej Consumer Products Ltd, said, “The spread of counterfeit products across the country is a major concern for the FMCG industry. Counterfeits or look-alike products are not only illegal, but also harmful and hazardous to human health.”
