Siddipet: SC, ST Commission Chairman Bakki Venkataiah accused Siddipet Collector K Hymavathi of ignoring his name in inviting Dr BR Ambedkar birth anniversary celebrations in the district. He further accused the Collector of ignoring his name at the behest of some Congress leaders.
Addressing the birth anniversary celebrations of Ambedkar at Mandapalli in Siddipet on Tuesday, Venkataiah said that he got invitations from Sangareddy collector and Medak collector and even from the State government to participate in the celebrations at Tank Bund.
However, he said that he did not get any invitation from Siddipet Collector and that she ignored his name while publishing it on the invitation card, though he hails from Siddipet district. He reminded the gathering that he holds a cabinet-rank post.
Asking the incharge minister G Vivekananda to introspect on what the administration did, he termed it a humiliation to SC and ST communities.
Stating that he got the post with the blessings of former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and former minister T Harish Rao, the SC, ST Commission Chairman said that he had toured the entire state to support the SC and STs who faced various issues.
