Hyderabad: Meghalaya secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the 78th Senior National Football Championship for the Santosh Trophy, after their narrow 1-0 win, while Tamil Nadu and Odisha played out a 1-1 draw at the Deccan Arena on Sunday.
The Northeastern team, with seven points from four matches in Group B, moved to second place behind Kerala, while fifth-placed Goa have three points from as many games.

Tamil Nadu’s search for their first win in the Santosh Trophy final rounds continued as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Odisha. The teams were locked in a goalless battle until the break. Alexander Romario Jesuraj converted a penalty to put his side ahead in the 68th minute.
However, their lead lasted only seven minutes as Rahul Mukhi scored in the 75th minute to level the score for Odisha. Odisha remain fourth in Group B with four points from as many games, while Tamil Nadu stay at the bottom with two points from four matches.
