In her complaint, the actress mentioned that Prasad had inappropriately touched her while shooting a web series. However, when she strongly objected to it, Prasad apologized several times.

About a year ago, the duo again had come together for acting in a web series. During the shooting of this web series, according to the complaint, Prasad again harassed and misbehaved with her. Tomatoes Thrown, Protest Outside Allu Arjun's Home Over Stampede Death

Hyderabad:

A massive protest took place outside the house of Telugu actor Allu Arjun over the stampede earlier this month that claimed a life. A group of people, claiming to students of the Osmania University, barged into his house, threw tomatoes and broke flower pots. The protesters raised slogans against the actor and sought justice for the woman who died, till they were removed by the police.

The stampede at Hyderabad’s Sandhya Theatre during the premiere of Pushpa 2, which took place  on December 4, has claimed the life of a woman. Her eight-year-old son is still in coma and is admitted at a city hospital.

Hyderabad city police chief CV Anand made a video presentation of the sequence of events leading to the stampede and its aftermath.

A senior police officer said ever after the stampede, the actor did not leave. The police then approached his manager and told him about the death of the woman. But the manager did not heed their request. When they reached the actor and explained the situation, he insisted on watching the movie first, the officer added.

Yesterday, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had told the assembly that Allu Arjun had attended the premiere of his movie ‘Pushpa 2’ despite refusal of police permission. He had even waved from his car’s sun-roof on his way in and out, holding a roadshow of sorts and triggering a stampede-like situation. Even after the death of the woman, the actor did not leave the cinema hall, prompting the police to force him out, the Chief Minister had said.

Earlier today, a video surfaced showing the police escorting out the actor from the movie hall, appearing to support the Chief Minister’s remarks.

Former Congress leader Bakka Judson says Congress created fake voter ID cards

A similar exercise was done in Kerala as well and this was not just about political benefit, but also a serious case of sedition, he said, adding that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy should be held responsible

Former Congress leader Bakka Judson says Congress created fake voter ID cards

Bakka Judson

Hyderabad: Former PCC General Secretary Bakka Judson alleged that the Congress party had created fake 8.5 lakh voter ID cards in the State to derive political benefits targeting the local body elections.

A similar exercise was done in Kerala as well and this was not just about political benefit, but also a serious case of sedition, he said, adding that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy should be held responsible.

In a video that has gone viral on social media platforms, Judson said a complaint was lodged by him with the Election Commission with all evidence. With an eye on the forthcoming municipal elections in the State, 8.5 lakh votes of those aged between 18 and 35 years were first deleted from the list.

The original voters’ photos were morphed and their phone numbers were also altered. Interestingly, the voter ID numbers would remain same, he alleged.

Judson expressed concern that if such voter IDs landed in the hands of terrorists and other anti-national groups, they could misuse those. Citizenship of individuals was being comprised and it was not just a petty issue, he said in the video.

“This is not confined to Telangana, it is happening in Kerala, Karnataka and other places. Yet, the BJP is remaining calm over the issue,” Judson said, alleging that Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka’s wife Nandini was also involved in the issue. When a case was registered against a few individuals, she managed to get the accused released, he alleged.

The Congress party keeps complaining and questions EVMs but morphing voter IDs was a bigger scam. Using these fake IDs, the party workers cast votes, he said, adding that he was planning to file a PIL in the Supreme Court in the voter IDs scam.

Yemeni FM: Israel’s sponsors accountable for ongoing aggression on Sana’a

Yemen’s foreign minister has condemned the recent US airstrikes in Sana’a, asserting that any nation supporting the Zionist regime’s aggression shares responsibility for its atrocities.

“Any country that supports the Zionist regime in any way in its aggression against Sana’a is a partner in this aggression, and must assume responsibility for the repercussions of such conduct,” Jamal Ahmed Ali Amer wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday.

He also warned Western countries of the disastrous consequences of their support for the Israeli regime’s ongoing aggression against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, saying they will have to pay a heavy price and must brace themselves for a strong response.

“The terrified Zionist regime, which speaks of a bank of targets inside Yemen, has demonstrated its failure and defeat by bombing facilities that have already been struck,” the senior Yemeni diplomat pointed out.

The remarks came after the United States military said it had conducted a series of air strikes against targets in Yemen’s capital Sana’a, including a missile storage facility and a “command-and-control” site.

US Central Command (CENTCOM), which oversees US Army operations in West Asia, added it also hit multiple one-way drones and an anti-ship cruise missile over the Red Sea.

The Yemeni information minister also condemned in the strongest terms the recent US military airstrikes against Sana’a.

“It is fairly evident that Americans have not learned from their past mistakes, and will continue to taste humiliation at the hands of Yemenis,” Hashem Sharaf al-Din noted.

‘Severe consequences’

A senior member of the political bureau of the Ansarullah resistance movement also warned that the United States and Israel would face severe consequences if they escalate tensions and expand their acts of aggression against Yemen.

Hizam al-Assad stated that his group is prepared for a full-scale war.

“Sana’a is not afraid of the spread of war. It is America that should be afraid, as its interests and assets are widespread in our region.

“We are not fearful of a full-scale war being imposed on us. The US and the Zionist regime should be scared of such an event because the outcome will not be in their favor at all,” he added.

He stressed that US interests in West Asia are extensive, and the existence of the Tel Aviv regime hinges upon the equation of security, military superiority, and deterrence, which no longer exists.

“The attacks by the US, Britain, and the Zionist regime [on Yemen] are a sign of their defeat and confusion. We have no apprehension about Yemen’s military capabilities and prowess.

“Yemen’s military capabilities and hardware have been developed for difficult war conditions. Homegrown Yemeni munitions are being stored in safe places, and the country’s diverse natural features have also contributed to such security,” Assad stated.

Yemenis have declared their open support for Palestine’s struggle against the Israeli occupation since the regime launched a devastating war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, after the territory’s resistance movements carried out Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the occupying entity.

Ansarullah maintains that it targets ships linked to Israel, the United States, or the United Kingdom to force an end to the Tel Aviv regime’s genocidal war on Gaza.

The Yemeni armed forces have said they will not stop their attacks until Israel’s ground and aerial offensives in Gaza end.

So far, Israel has killed at least 45,227 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured 107,573 others in Gaza.

KL Rahul attended to by physio after getting hit on hand

Melbourne: India opener KL Rahul got hit on his hand while batting at the nets here on Saturday and was promptly attended to by the visiting team’s physio ahead of the fourth Test against Australia.

Rahul was hit on his right hand and was seen in some discomfort at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, which will host the Boxing Day Test from December 26 with the five-match series levelled at 1-1.

There is no clarity on the extent of injury and the team management has also not issued any statement on why he had sought medical attention.

In a video that surfaced on social media, Rahul was seen holding the right hand while receiving treatment.

Rahul has been the team’s in-form batter in the ongoing tour, scoring 235 runs from six innings at an impressive average of 47.

The elegant right-hander has so far struck two half-centuries and is set to open the batting alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal in the fourth Test.

Overall, he is the second highest scorer in the marquee series behind Australia’s swashbuckling middle-order batter Travis Head, who has already smashed two hundreds.

Battling through multiple rain interruptions, Rahul held firm with a vital knock of 84 in India’s first innings of the third Test in Adelaide, the innings going a long way in helping India to save the match.

Iranian embassy staffer assassinated by terrorists in Damascus

Seyed Davoud Bitaraf, a local staff member of Iran’s embassy in the Syrian capital city of Damascus, was assassinated by “terrorist elements” in Damascus on December 15, 2024.

The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry has condemned the shooting death of its local embassy staffer in the Syrian capital of Damascus, when terrorists opened fire on the vehicle he was in.

On Saturday, Esmaeil Baghaei extended his condolences to the Iranian nation and the bereaved family of Seyed Davoud Bitaraf over his assassination by “terrorist elements” on December 15.

The diplomat vehemently denounced the act of terror, stating that the body of Bitaraf had been found, identified and transferred to Iran in recent days.

Baghaei also reminded Syria’s new transitional government of its responsibility to identify and punish the perpetrators of the crime.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is seriously pursuing the matter through various diplomatic and international channels in an appropriate manner,” he said.

Speaking at a weekly press briefing in the capital Tehran on Monday, Baghaei said the reopening of the Iranian embassy in Syria is “high on the agenda,” adding that the diplomatic mission will resume its activities once the “necessary conditions” are met.

“The reopening of the embassy in Damascus requires preparations, the most important of which is ensuring the security and safety of the embassy and its staff,” the Iranian diplomat said.

He did not provide a specific timeline, but added that Iran will work toward the objective “as soon as the necessary conditions are provided.”

Militants, led by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), stormed and ransacked the Iranian embassy in Damascus following the fall of President Bashar al-Assad’s government on December 8.
