"Look Mom…": Mayank's Instagram Post After Beating RCB Wins Internet

Following his side’s 28-run win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Lucknow Super Giants’ (LSG) pace sensation Mayank Yadav expressed happiness with his performance, with a heartwarming social media post. A three-wicket haul by Mayank and a barrage of top-class pace bowling destroyed the RCB top order and helped LSG hand the home side their third loss at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday. Following the win, Mayank took to Instagram and wrote, “Look mom I can fly”. Within just two matches, Mayank has gathered headlines for his sheer pace, touching the bowling speeds of 150 kmph-plus consistently.

During the match against RCB, Yadav bagged three wickets in his four-over spell, giving only 14 runs. Following his remarkable spell, the pacer was named the ‘Player of the Match’.

The LSG seamer scripted history at the age of 21 as he became the first bowler in the history of IPL to win the ‘Player of the Match’ award in their first two matches.

He clocked 156.7 kmph during the game against RCB and bowled the fastest delivery in the ongoing edition and overall the fourth fastest in the history of the entire tournament, breaking his own record made during the Punjab Kings match which was his debut, where he clocked 155.8 kmph. During his debut game, he took 3/27 in four overs.

It is not just Mayank’s pace that has many terming him as the next big Indian pace prospect, it is also the control over his line and length and intimidation that he has produced in a matter of couple of matches which stands out.

His consecutive three-wicket hauls in his first two games also helped him enter the elite list of players. Yadav became the sixth bowler to scalp three-plus wicket hauls in each of their first two IPL matches. The 21-year-old pacer now has embarked his name along with Lasith Malinga, Amit Singh, Mayank Markande, and Jofra Archer.

Coming to the match, RCB elected to field first after winning the toss. Openers Quinton de Kock and skipper KL Rahul (20 in 14 balls, with two sixes) gave LSG a measured start with a 53-run opening stand. There was a 56-run stand between Kock and Marcus Stoinis (24 in 15 balls, with a four and two sixes) which helped LSG cross the 100-run mark. RCB bowlers did put pressure on the batting towards the end, but Nicholas Pooran (40* in 21 balls, with a four and five sixes) finished off well for LSG, taking them to 181/5 in their 20 overs.

Glenn Maxwell (2/23) was the pick of the bowlers for RCB.

Mohammed Siraj, Yash Dayal and Reece Topley took a wicket each for RCB. In the run chase, openers Virat Kohli (22 in 16 balls, with two fours and a six) and Faf Du Plessis (19 in 13 balls, with three fours) started off with a 40-run opening stand. But a game-changing spell from Mayank Yadav (3/14) put RCB on the backfoot, reducing them to 94/5. Mahipal Lomror (33 in 13 balls, with three fours and three sixes) and Rajat Patidar (29 in 21 balls, with two fours and two sixes) tried to put up a fight, but RCB could score just 153 in 19.4 overs.

Besides Mayank, Naveen-ul-Haq (2/25) was the pick of the bowlers for LSG. Siddarth, Yash Thakur and Stoinis got a wicket each.

Mayank got the ‘Player of the Match’ for his spell. RCB is in the ninth spot with a win and two losses, giving them three points. LSG is in the fourth place with two wins and a loss, giving them a four points.

Moscow terror attack traced to Ukrainian special services

“They are trying to impose it on us that the terrorist act was committed not by the Kiev regime but by supporters of the radical Islamic ideology, possibly, by members of the Afghan branch of ISIL [the former name of the Islamic State terror group outlawed in Russia],”  Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev told the 19th annual meeting of top security officials of SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) member states.

“However, it is far more important to promptly establish who is the mastermind and the sponsor of this horrific crime. Its traces lead to Ukrainian intelligence services. However, everyone is well aware that the Kiev regime is not independent and is fully controlled by the United States. It has to be borne in mind that ISIL and Al-Qaeda [outlawed in Russia] and other terrorist groups were created by Washington,” Patrushev stressed.

As the Russian top security official pointed out, “the perpetrators of this mass shooting and also their accomplices were arrested upon their attempt to cross the Russian state border where the Ukrainian side prepared a window for their escape.”

On the evening of March 22, a terrorist attack targeted the Crocus City Hall music venue in Krasnogorsk, Moscow Region, just outside the Moscow city limits. According to the latest data, 144 people were killed and 551 suffered injuries. The Russian Investigative Committee said that evidence had been found of the attackers’ links to Ukrainian nationalists.

'Appalling': EU denounces Israel’s killing of aid workers in Gaza

The European Union has condemned as “appalling” Israel’s latest killing of seven aid workers who were delivering food to the starving population in the Gaza Strip.

In a joint statement released on Wednesday, EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell and European Commissioner for Crisis Management Jenaz Lenarčič highlighted the high number of humanitarian workers killed in the Israeli regime’s ongoing war on besieged Gaza.

The Israeli military’s “killing … of seven members of a humanitarian team …, while they were travelling to deliver food to the most vulnerable in Gaza, is appalling,” the statement read.

“We urge a swift implementation of the announced commitment by the Israeli authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure accountability for those who are responsible.”

On Monday, Israeli forces conducted a fatal strike on a clearly identified convoy of international aid workers in Gaza with the charity World Central Kitchen (WCK), including three British nationals, an Australian, a Polish national, an American-Canadian dual citizen and a Palestinian. The attack drew international condemnations and mounted calls for an urgent investigation into the raid.

Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu admitted that the occupation forces had killed the humanitarian workers in the Gaza Strip, saying, “It happens in wartime.”

The EU statement said that the bloc expects “full, immediate and effective implementation” of a recent ruling by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and UN Security Council Resolution 2728 that has demanded an immediate Gaza ceasefire.

It also called on Israel to “allow a full, safe and unhindered humanitarian access to those in need” in the blockaded Palestinian territory.

Israeli attack, Netanyahu’s reaction arouse ‘understandable anger’

In an X post on Wednesday, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said Israel’s deadly strike and Netanyahu’s reaction to the incident are straining ties between Warsaw and Tel Aviv.

“The tragic attack on volunteers and your (Netanyahu’s) reaction arouse understandable anger,” he said.

Poland had shown solidarity with Israel after the October 7 operation by the Palestinian Hamas resistance group, he noted, adding that this solidarity is now being put “to a really hard test.”

Meanwhile, Poland’s Foreign Ministry reiterated Palestinians’ right to establish a sovereign state.

The ministry wrote on X that it recognizes “the right of the Palestinians to establish a state and establish an institutional framework to live in peace.”

Israel waged its genocidal war on the Gaza Strip on October 7 after Hamas carried out its historic operation against the usurping entity in retaliation for the regime’s intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.

So far, the Tel Aviv regime has killed at least 32,916 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured 75,494 others.

In a war crime, the occupying regime is intentionally starving the people in Gaza by destroying food supplies and severely restricting the flow of food, medicines and other humanitarian goods.

Donald Trump Sues Truth Social Co-Founders, Accuses Them Of Mismanagement

Donald Trump Sues Truth Social Co-Founders, Accuses Them Of Mismanagement

Former US president Donald Trump has filed a lawsuit against the co-founders of Truth Social, claiming that they should forfeit their shares in the recently public business due to their mismanagement of the social media network, as per a report in NBC News.

The IPO of Truth Social went public on March 26 while the lawsuit was filed on March 24. Trump Media & Technology Group Corp. requested a judge strip executives Andy Litinsky and Wes Moss of their company shares, claiming that their costly errors caused the company’s IPO to be delayed. The arguments were presented in papers filed last week in a Florida state court. The former President has alleged that both violated the agreement about the setup and “don’t deserve their 8.6% stake, currently valued at $606 million”, as per Bloomberg.

The two, who participated on Trump’s NBC programme “The Apprentice,” approached him with the concept of Truth Social after he was banned from Twitter in the wake of the Capitol attack on January 6, 2021. The lawsuit said that this turned out to be “a phenomenal opportunity for Moss and Litinsky” and that they were both “riding President Trump’s coattails.” It added, “Without President Trump, Truth Social would have been impossible.”

According to the lawsuit, the duo was entrusted with creating the new business’s corporate governance and locating a special-purpose acquisition firm that might help it go public and raise capital. The lawsuit stated they were unsuccessful on both occasions.

In February, Mr Moss and Mr Litinsky filed a lawsuit against Donald Trump’s business in Delaware Chancery Court, claiming that he was attempting to reduce the value of their shares by raising the company’s total authorised shares from 120 million to 1 billion.

"Half In Jail, Half On Bail": BJP Chief JP Nadda Slams INDIA Bloc Leaders

'Half In Jail, Half On Bail': BJP Chief JP Nadda Slams INDIA Bloc Leaders

JP Nadda asked whether Mr “Kejriwal was in jail or not”, and if “Rahul Gandhi was on bail or not”.

Jaipur:

The opposition INDIA bloc is an alliance of dynastic parties, half of whose leaders are in jail and half out on bail, BJP National President JP Nadda said today.

Mr Nadda made the remarks while addressing an election rally in Rajasthan’s Jhalawar. The BJP has renominated Dushyant Singh from the Jhalawar-Baran Lok Sabha constituency.

“The INDI Alliance is a ‘Bhrastachar Bachao Alliance (save corruption alliance)’. It has parties in which the president is from the family, the general secretary is from the family and ministers are also from the family. These are parties of the family,” Mr Nadda said.

He also alleged that the Congress had committed scams everywhere.

He asked, “Is Rahul Gandhi out on bail or not? Are Sonia Gandhi, Chidambaram, (AAP Rajya Sabha MP) Sanjay Singh out on bail or not? Are Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia in jail or not?”

“Half the leaders of the INDI Alliance are in jail and half (out) on bail,” he said.

Mr Nadda also hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying the country has progressed at a fast pace under his leadership.

“Today, India’s aspiration is that there should be a corruption-free government. There should be a development-oriented government. The country progressed at a fast pace under the leadership of Modi ji,” Mr Nadda said.

Through unimagined development, India should stand as a “developed country”, he said.

The BJP leader also claimed the situation in villages has changed under Modi’s leadership. There were 18,000 villages with no electricity, which became electrified after Modi became prime minister in 2014.

Highlighting the development works done by the BJP-led Centre, Mr Nadda said 3.5 lakh villages have been connected by paved roads. Eighty crore people are being given free ration, resulting in lifting 25 crore people above the poverty line.

He said 55 crore people — about 40 per cent of the population, including the poor, rickshaw-pullers, tea vendors, bus drivers, and cleaners — have been given a yearly insurance facility of Rs 5 lakh under Ayushman Bharat for serious illnesses.

In Rajasthan, the Lok Sabha elections will be held in two phases during this month.

Boxer Vijender Singh Switches From Congress To BJP

The move is expected to help the BJP consolidate votes from the Jat community.

New Delhi:

In another jolt to the Congress weeks before the Lok Sabha elections, boxer Vijender Singh has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The Olympian had joined the Congress in 2019 and unsuccessfully contested the general elections from the South Delhi constituency, losing to the BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri.

Sources said the Congress had planned to field the 38-year-old against BJP MP Hema Malini, who has been named as a candidate from the Mathura seat once again. The move is expected to help the BJP consolidate votes from the Jat community, which is especially important in Haryana and Western UP. The boxer is expected to campaign extensively for the BJP in these two areas.

Mr Singh was the first Indian boxer to win an Olympic medal – a bronze – at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He also won silver medals at the 2006 and 2014 Commonwealth Games and bronze medals at the 2010 edition of the Games as well as the 2009 World Championships.

Joining the BJP in the presence of party General Secretary Vinod Tawde on Wednesday, the boxer said in Hindi, “This is like a ghar wapsi (homecoming) for me. I had contested the elections in 2019. It is good to be back. The way sportspersons are getting respect in the country and abroad now is commendable. When we used to go abroad to fight earlier, to the UK and Dubai, for instance, certain things would happen at the airports sometimes. But since the BJP and the (Narendra) Modi government came to power, we can go anywhere easily.”

“I would like to thank PM Modi and the BJP for the respect that sportspersons get under this government. I would like to be a part of this government, help people and show them the right path. I am the same Vijender that I was and will call a spade a spade,” he added.

Vijender Singh had backed wrestlers Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia in their protest against BJP MP and then Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh over sexual harassment allegations last year. When Sakshi Malik had announced her retirement from wrestling after a close aide of the BJP MP had won the subsequent WFI elections, the boxer had called it a black day in the history of sports.

He had also questioned the silence of Indian cricketers on the issue.
