Watch: Dhoni Advises Fan To 'Go To Pakistan For Their Food'. His Reply…

Former Indian cricket team skipper MS Dhoni is an admirer of Pakistani food and in a video that is doing the rounds on social media, he can seen advising a fan to visit Pakistan to try their food. Dhoni has visited the country earlier as part of the India squad and has praised the local cuisine very highly. “You should go to Pakistan once for the food,” he said. However, the other person was not convinced and his reply left Dhoni in splits. “I’m not going there even if you suggest good food. I love food, but I won’t go there,” the fan responded. NDTV cannot ascertain the authenticity of the video.

Meanwhile, the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Friday announced that Rohit Sharma-led Team India have been docked two crucial ICC World Test Championship points for maintaining a slow over-rate in the first Test against South Africa in Centurion.

“India have been fined 10 per cent of their match fee and penalised two ICC World Test Championship points for maintaining a slow over-rate against South Africa in the first Test in Centurion,” ICC said in an official statement.

India also have been fined 10 per cent of their match fee for bowling two overs short of the target.

Chris Broad of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees imposed the sanction after India were ruled to be two overs short of the target after time allowances were taken into consideration.

“In accordance with Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to minimum over-rate offences, players are fined five per cent of their match fee for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time,” a statement from ICC further read.

In addition, as per Article 16.11.2 of the ICC World Test Championship playing conditions, a side is penalised one point for each over short. Consequently, two World Test Championship points have been deducted from India’s points total.

“India captain Rohit Sharma pled guilty to the offence and accepted the proposed sanction, so there was no need for a formal hearing. On-field umpires Paul Reiffel and Langton Rusere, third umpire Ahsan Raza and fourth umpire Stephen Harris levelled the charge,” it further read.

Following the Test defeat, India dropped to fifth place with 16 points from three Tests and a points percentage of 44.44. The reduction of points for the slow-over rate, on the other hand, severely undermines India’s position in the standings, dropping them below Australia to No.6, with 14 points and a points percentage of 38.89.

Heavy rain forced the second of three Twenty20 internationals between hosts New Zealand and Bangladesh to be called off Friday, with the home team on 72-2 after 11 overs. Bangladesh lead the series 1-0 after their bowlers ran riot in the opening match last Wednesday, paving the way to a five-wicket victory in Napier. It was the visitors’ first T20 win over the Black Caps in New Zealand. Having put the Black Caps into bat under overcast skies at Mount Maunganui on Friday, Bangladesh struck early when opener Finn Allen was caught in the second over with New Zealand on nine for one.

Tim Seifert smashed 43 off 23 balls before being caught to end his second-wicket partnership of 49 with Daryl Mitchell before rain started to fall.

Bangladesh may seal their first series win in New Zealand in any format on Sunday when the third and final T20 is also held at Mount Maunganui.

Russia warns of potential retaliatory steps foreign assets

On Thursday, the Financial Times newspaper reported, citing sources, that Germany, France, Italy and the European Union have expressed reservations regarding Washington’s idea to confiscate Russian assets worth $300 billion and consider it necessary to first assess the legality of the measure, Sputnik reports.

“Of course there is [list of foreign assets that Russia can take]. Understanding the unpredictability of our counterparts, let us say, complete unpredictability and, understanding their tendency to violate international law and other laws, including their own national ones, understanding their tendency to self-destruction, I mean the destruction of the modern economic system, undermining confidence in the basic postulates of the world economic system, I mean, the main reserve currency, the principle of inviolability of property and so on, then, of course, we analyzed possible retaliatory steps in advance, and we will do everything like this, so that it would best suit our interests … Therefore, such actions are fraught with very, very serious consequences,” Peskov said, answering the question whether Russia can withdraw foreign assets.

The seizure of Russian assets abroad is illegal and can cause serious harmful consequences, including becoming another blow to the global economy, the spokesman added.

Yemen warns foreign forces against supporting Israel in Red Sea, Arabian Sea

Yemen’s defense minister has warned tarns-regional military forces against offering support to the Israeli regime and securing passage of Israel-owned ships or vessels bound to Israeli ports in the Red Sea and Arabian Sea waters.

Speaking at a graduation ceremony of Yemeni cadets in the country’s western coastal city of Hudaydah on Thursday, Major General Mohammed al-Atifi, warned the forces “against various movements in support of the Zionist entity in the maritime theatre that spans between the Arabian Sea and the Red Sea.”

He noted that Yemeni Armed Forces “are closely and rigorously monitoring the movement of American, British and French military forces in both bodies of water.”

He underscored that the Ansarullah resistance movement, the Sana’a-based National Salvation Government, the Yemeni nation, and security forces will stand unwaveringly by the side of Palestinians until they liberate all their occupied lands, and establish a sovereign independent state with holy al-Quds as its capital.

Yemen’s Armed Forces in a statement on Tuesday announced targeting a ship as it was heading towards the occupied territories as well as regions deep inside those areas in support of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, who are subject to an unrelenting genocidal Israeli war.

The Yemeni Navy conducted a missile strike against the vessel, which it identified as “commercial ship MSC United,” the statement read.

“The targeting of the ship came after the crew, for the third time, ignored calls from the naval forces, as well as repeated fiery warning messages,” it added.

The Armed Forces also reported striking the port of Eilat in the southernmost part of the occupied territories as well as “other areas in occupied Palestine.”

The attacks, the statement said, were carried out “in solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian people who continue to face killing, destruction, siege, and starvation.”

Yemenis have declared their open support for Palestine’s struggle against the Israeli occupation since the regime launched a devastating war on Gaza on October 7 after the territory’s Palestinian resistance movements carried out a surprise retaliatory attack, dubbed Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, against the occupying entity.

The relentless Israeli military campaign against Gaza has killed at least 21,320 people, most of them women and children. Another 55,660 individuals have been wounded.

Reports revealed that Israeli shipping companies have already decided to reroute their vessels in fear of attacks by Yemeni forces.

Yemeni forces have also launched missile and drone attacks on targets in the Israeli-occupied territories after the regime’s aggression on Gaza.

Sharks Kills 15-Year-Old Surfing At Remote Spot In Southern Australia

Sharks Kills 15-Year-Old Surfing At Remote Spot In Southern Australia

Police said they were preparing a report for the coroner.

Sydney:

A  shark attacked and killed a 15-year-old boy at a remote surfing spot in South Australia, police said Friday.

The marine predator struck Thursday afternoon near Ethel Beach on the Yorke Peninsula, state police said in a statement.

“Sadly, the body of a teenage boy was recovered from the water,” they said.

Police said they were preparing a report for the coroner but gave no details of the attack on the boy, who was from a southern Adelaide suburb.

Adelaide’s The Advertiser newspaper quoted an unidentified Ethel Beach local as saying another surfer had paddled out to help after the boy was bitten on the leg.

“The shark was circling them as the guy pulled the boy out of the water. There was a lot of blood,” the resident said.

There were no details on the shark involved, but great white sharks are known to prowl South Australia’s coastline.

In late October, witnesses saw a shark grab a 55-year-old surfer in its jaws at the state’s Granites Beach. His body was not recovered. A large great white was seen nearby.

A 46-year-old teacher was attacked by a shark in May as he surfed at South Australia’s Walkers Rock Beach. His body was never found but search teams discovered a piece of wetsuit.

How To Make Beetroot Idli Fry: Recipe To Make Beetroot Idli Fry

In two separate bowls, rinse and soak rice and dal. Set it aside for 6-7 hours. After they are soaked, grind them in a blender until they are smooth as a paste. You can use a little water in intervals to make sure the dal and rice blend is lump-free. Let them ferment overnight. In a blender, put the chopped beetroot and make a fine paste out of it. You can add 1-2 teaspoons of water to ensure the paste is smooth.

After the idli batter gets fermented overnight, add the beetroot paste along with some salt. Make sure that you mix it well so that the batter has a beautiful pink colour. If the batter seems too thick, add 1/4 cup of water to it and mix well. Grease the idli plates with ghee or oil and pour the beetroot batter into it. Place the mould in the steamer and steam-cook the idlis for 15-20 minutes. Allow the idlis to cool down a bit before removing them from the mould.

In a pan, heat some oil or ghee. To this, add mustard and cumin seeds and allow them to splutter. Then add chopped onion and curry leaves, and mix well. Add the rest of the spices, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt, and slit green chillies. Cook until the onions lose their rawness and become translucent. At this point, you can also raise the spice levels by adding a bit of garam masala. Mix well.

In the meantime, take out the beetroot idlis from the mould and cut each into four pieces. Toss the beetroot idli pieces in the pan and give it a good mix so that it’s well-coated with the masala. Cook the idlis until they are golden brown and slightly crispy on the edges. Garnish them with coriander leaves, and voila! Your beetroot idli fry is ready to serve! You can serve these idlis with peanut or coconut chutney!
