Zionist regime launches fresh attacks on southern Lebanon

The Zionist regime’s army targeted Yater, a Lebanese municipality located in Bint Jbeil District, by drone attacks, local sources reported.

The Zionist regime announced minutes later that a surface-to-air missile had been fired from southern Lebanon at the regime’s drone.

Hezbollah said in a statement that its forces targeted a number of the Zionist regime’s military positions on the border of Lebanon and occupied Palestine with suitable weapons.

The Zionist military and Hezbollah in Lebanon have been exchanging fire on a daily basis since the start of the Gaza conflict three weeks ago.

The Israeli regime has been attacking Gaza in the wake of Operation Al-Aqsa Storm by the Palestinian Resistance movement Hamas on October 7, which was in response to decades-long violence against Palestinians and recurrent incursions into al-Aqsa Mosque.

The death toll since the start of the Israeli regime’s carnage on October 7 has surpassed 8,300 with upwards of 21,000 Palestinians wounded.

Despite the excessive toll, on the 26th day of the war on Gaza, the Israeli regime declared that the war had “entered a new phase.” On Friday, the Zionist forces intensified air, sea, and ground attacks on the Gaza Strip.

Numerous international aid agencies confirmed they lost contact with staff in Gaza after Tel Aviv knocked out internet and communications in the occupied territory.

The UN General Assembly has called for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza. 120 states voted for the resolution, but the Zionists rejected the call.

Hundreds of pro-Palestine protesters stage sit-in in London, calling for truce in Gaza

Hundreds of pro-Palestine protesters have gathered at a railway station in the British capital London, calling for an immediate end to Israel’s ongoing atrocities in the besieged Gaza Strip.

More than 500 demonstrators staged a sit-in protest at London Liverpool Street station during rush hour on Tuesday, waving Palestinian flags and chanting slogans such as “Palestine will be free” and “cease-fire now” as commuters tried to make their way through the crowds.

Videos posted online by the feminist group Sisters Uncut, which seemingly organized the sit-in, according to their social media posts on X, formally known as Twitter, showed a large group of demonstrators filled the station, temporarily disrupting the evening commute.

Sisters Uncut said “hundreds of commuters joined” the mass action, claiming that they have “shut down” the station.

However, Network Rail said it was able to keep the station open without operational disruptions.

Members of other activist groups such as the Palestinian Youth Movement and the International Jewish Anti-Zionist Network also joined the protest, calling for an end to international support for Israel’s actions in Palestine and an immediate cease-fire in Gaza.

British Transport Police (BTP) said in a statement that they attended Liverpool Street station following reports of a protest on the station concourse.

“Officers worked to safely disperse the crowd and ensure passengers could access the station,” the statement said.

Sisters Uncut held a similar pro-Palestinian demonstration at Waterloo station on Saturday.

Over the past three weeks, pro-Palestine demonstrators have packed the streets of central London several times to condemn the UK government’s unequivocal support for Israel, demanding the cessation of Israeli aggression in Gaza.

Despite government attempts to delegitimize it, support for Palestinians is on the rise, with hundreds of thousands of people taking to the streets of central London to raise awareness of what’s happening in Gaza and to express solidarity with the Palestinians.

The latest development comes as people in Western countries, including those whose governments have expressed staunch support for the Israeli regime, are holding similar solidarity rallies against Israel’s brutal war on Gaza, denouncing the Western support for Tel Aviv.

Israel launched the war on Gaza on October 7 after the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas waged the surprise Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the occupying entity in response to the Israeli regime’s decades-long campaign of bloodletting and devastation against Palestinians.

Tel Aviv has also blocked water, food, and electricity to Gaza, plunging the coastal strip into a humanitarian crisis.

The aggression has so far killed 8,610 Palestinians and left more than 23,000 wounded.

Manipur Commandos Reach Border Town After 2 Ambushes In 1 Day: 10 Points

Manipur Commandos Reach Border Town After 2 Ambushes In 1 Day: 10 Points

A convoy of Manipur Police commandos reached the border Moreh on Tuesday night

Imphal/New Delhi:
A convoy of Manipur Police commandos drove into the India-Myanmar border town Moreh on Tuesday night following the killing of a senior officer by insurgents. The commandos, who were ambushed by insurgents, pressed on and reached the town at midnight.

Here’s your 10-point cheatsheet to this big story

  1. The Manipur Police sent the reinforcements to the border town, 115 km from the state capital Imphal, after police officer Chingtham Anand was shot dead by an insurgent sniper while he was overseeing the construction of a helipad.

  2. A combined force of police commandos and the army’s Assam Rifles were ambushed at two places on the hilly Imphal-Moreh highway while they were going to the border town. Three police commandos were injured in the attack by insurgents.

  3. Subsequently, despite two ambushes in a single day, the police commandos pressed on towards Moreh and reached the border town by midnight, sources said. Night visuals show a long column of armoured SUVs and other vehicles entering Moreh.

  4. The Manipur government extended the mobile internet ban till November 5 to prevent law and order issues following the killing of the police officer, whose colleagues said they remember him as a pleasant, cheerful officer who maintained a good rapport with locals.

  5. The Manipur government in a statement after an emergency cabinet meeting yesterday said a first information report (FIR) has been filed against an organisation called ‘World Kuki-Zo Intellectual Council’ (WKZIC) for issuing a statement on October 24 asking “volunteers” in the Kuki-Zo community to take up arms.

  6. The WKZIC in the statement allegedly said the Kuki National Army and other insurgent groups cannot “join the war” due to the tripartite suspension of operations (SoO) agreement with the centre and the state government, so they needed “volunteers”.

  7. At least 25 Kuki insurgent groups have signed the SoO agreement, under which they have to stay at designated camps, and keep their weapons in locked storage for regular joint monitoring with the security forces.

  8. Kuki civil society groups, meanwhile, in statements alleged the ambushes were shoot-outs with village volunteers over alleged indiscriminate use of force by police commandos. The Kuki groups alleged the Manipur government has been pouring in state forces to Moreh to harass civilians and have demanded the centre to withdraw the police from the border town.

  9. Commandos of the Manipur Police have arrested at least 10 Myanmar nationals in as many days for looting homes of Moreh residents, who left the border town when ethnic clashes broke out on May 3 between the hill-majority Kuki tribes and the valley-majority Meiteis.

  10. Though the Manipur ethnic violence is said to be over the Meities’ demand for inclusion under the Scheduled Tribes category, many leaders including Union Minister Home Minister Amit Shah and Foreign Minister S Jaishankar have said entry of illegal immigrants is one of the main factors behind the unrest in the northeast state, which is ruled by the BJP.

Saudi Arabia condemns Israel attack on Jabalia refugee camp

The Israeli regime has been waging a barbaric war against Gaza since October 7, when Hamas-led Palestinian Resistance groups launched their biggest operation against the Zionist regime in years. The sneak attack, dubbed Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, came in response to the regime’s intensified crimes against the Palestinian people.

The Israeli war has so far claimed the lives of over 8,300 innocent Palestinians, including more than 3,000 children, and left upwards of 21,000 others wounded.

The United Nations General Assembly overwhelmingly passed a resolution on Friday, calling for the implementation of an immediate “humanitarian truce” in Gaza. The Israeli regime has rejected all calls for a ceasefire, claiming it would benefit Hamas.

The following are the latest updates:

Saudi Arabia condemns ‘inhumane targeting’ of Jabalia refugee camp

Saudi Arabia has condemned the Israeli regime’s “inhumane targeting” of the Jabalia refugee camp in a statement shared by Saudi Arabia’s foreign ministry.

“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia condemns in the strongest terms possible the inhumane targeting by the Israeli occupation forces of the Jabalia refugee camp in the besieged Gaza Strip,” the statement said.

The latest attack on the densely populated refugee camp “caused the death and injury of a large number of innocent civilians”, the statement added.

Two reported killed after latest Israeli strike on Jenin

Al Jazeera website on Wednesday morning reported that the death toll from the latest Israeli air strike on the Jenin refugee camp has risen to two. The identities of the victims have not yet been released.

Zionist forces have been carrying out regular nightly raids across the occupied West Bank, including Jenin.

Death toll rises after latest Israeli air strikes on Gaza’s Khan Younis

Medical sources told Al Jazeera that the death toll in the Israeli regime’s attack on Khan Younis has risen from five to 12.

Two residential buildings were targeted by Zionist forces before or around dawn. More than two dozen Palestinians were also wounded in those strikes.

Anger grows over Israeli attack on Gaza refugee camp

Humanitarian groups have condemned the Israeli regime’s attack on the Jabalia refugee camp, saying the air raid should be a “wake-up call” to world leaders to secure a ceasefire in Gaza.

Hit 11,000 Gaza 'Terror Targets' Since War's Start: Israel Army

Jerusalem, Undefined:

The Israeli army said on Wednesday that its forces had carried out attacks on more than 11,000 militant targets in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of its ongoing war with Hamas.

“Since the beginning of the war, the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) has struck over 11,000 targets belonging to terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip,” a statement from the military said.

Gaza has in recent days seen fierce battles between Israeli ground troops and militants as Israel has pressed its mission to “crush” Hamas after it went on a rampage on October 7 killing 1,400 people, mostly civilians, including women, children and the elderly.

Since then, Israel has hit back with an unstinting aerial bombardment, which the health ministry in Hamas-controlled Gaza says has now killed more than 8,500 Palestinians, two-thirds of them women and children.

Israelis also face a daily barrage of aerial attacks from Hamas and other Iran-backed groups around the Middle East.

Yemen’s Huthi rebels said they had “launched a large batch of ballistic missiles… and a large number of armed aircraft” towards Israel on Tuesday.

Israel’s military said a “hostile aircraft intrusion” had set off warning sirens in Eilat, and a surface-to-surface missile was “successfully intercepted”.

In the north, Israel has traded near-daily fire with Lebanon’s Iran-backed Hezbollah movement.

FBI Chief warns of increased threats in US amid Hamas-Israel conflict

Director Wray emphasized our primary concern: that violent extremists, whether individuals or small groups, may be inspired by events in the Middle East to launch attacks against ordinary Americans in their daily routines.

FBI Chief warns of increased threats in US amid Hamas-Israel conflict

Washington: The ongoing Hamas-Israel conflict has heightened the potential threats of violence in the US to a high level not seen in several years, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Christopher Wray has warned.

“We assess that the actions of Hamas and its allies will serve as an inspiration the likes of which we haven’t seen since ISIS launched its so-called caliphate several years ago,” Wray said on Tuesday in his testimony at a congressional hearing, referring to the Islamic State group.

Wray said that multiple foreign terrorist organisations had called for attacks against Americans and the West since the beginning of the latest conflict in Gaza earlier this month, which raised the threat posed by homegrown US violent extremists, Xinhua news agency reported.

“Our most immediate concern is that violent extremists, individuals or small groups, will draw inspiration from the events of the Middle East and carry out attacks against Americans going about their daily lives,” Wray noted.

But he also said the FBI isn’t currently tracking an “organised threat” inside the country.

The FBI chief told lawmakers that threats to the Jewish community in the US are “reaching in some way sort of historic level”.

The White House delivered alarm on Monday over reports of anti-Jewish incidents at multiple US universities as rising tensions prompted university officials to tighten security.

During his testimony, US Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas also said his agency had responded to an increase in threats against Jewish, Muslim, and Arab American communities across the country since the war started.

He highlighted that hate against Jewish students, communities and institutions “added to a preexisting increase in the level of antisemitism in the United States and around the world”.

The FBI has also opened a hate-crime investigation into the killing of a 6-year-old Muslim boy who police say was stabbed to death by his landlord.

“It is a time to be concerned. We are in a dangerous period,” Wray said. “This is not a time for panic, but it is a time for vigilance.”
