The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a recent video on their social media where the 33-year-old batter was seen playing a new character. Before going out of the team hotel, Suryakumar said that he and his team would talk about cricket with localities.

“Today I am playing the role of a cameraperson. We will talk about cricket and have some fun in the street,” Suryakumar said.

While playing the role of a cameraperson, the India batter covered his identity by wearing a full-sleeved shirt, sunglasses, and a cap, and covered his face with a face mask.

While interacting, a fan praised Suryakumar and said that it is a joy to see him. The fan later added that hopefully, the batter will get a chance to play at the Wankhede.

“It is a joy to see him (Suryakumar Yadav) play. Every time I see him play I think about how he hits these shots and his. He is Mr. 360 for a reason. Looking forward to seeing him play and I hope he gets a chance to play at the Wankhede,” the fan said.

In the end, Suryakumar removed his face mask to reveal his identity. Following this, the player clicked photos with the fans.

In the ODI World Cup 2023 standings, Rohit Sharma-led India are leading the points table after winning all of their six previous matches.

Previously, India have beaten Australia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, New Zealand, and England.

In their previous encounter, the ‘Men in Blue’ have defeated the reigning champions by 100 runs.

Gaza’s Hamas-run health ministry said a second Israeli bombing raid in two days had killed and wounded “dozens” Wednesday at the territory’s biggest refugee camp, Jabalia.

It said there were “dozens of martyrs and injured in a bombing by the occupation planes”, a day after Israel acknowledged the first strikes, saying they targeted a top Hamas commander.

Images obtained by AFP showed major damage and rescuers said “whole families” were killed Wednesday, but casualty details could not be immediately confirmed.

Alliance Francaise To Open New Branches In These Cities

France aims to make French language, culture easily accessible everywhere in India, said French Minister

New Delhi:

Alliance Francaise, an institution supported by the French government to promote French language and culture, will open two new branches in Udaipur and Bhubaneshwar, France’s Minister of State for Development and International Partnership Chrysoula Zacharopoulou announced on Thursday.

“France aims to make French language and culture easily accessible everywhere in India, that’s why we are opening two other branches of Alliance Francaise in India, one in Udaipur and one in Bhubaneswar,” she said during a visit to the institute in Delhi.

According to the French embassy here, France boasts a network of 15 alliance françaises and seven branches in India, providing French language classes to more than 28,000 students.

The minister interacted with the students at the institute and shared her experience of learning French language.

“I was on same page as every non-French people when I started learning the language, I am a Greek by blood, French was never my mother tongue but here I am…French is a language for everybody,” she said.

During the interaction, Shilpi, one of the recruited volunteers from India, said, “I stared learning French in 2022 and within very less span of time I managed to learn French, my learning enhanced when I had the opportunity to stay in France for eight months. France’s environment taught me a lot and it has opened ample opportunities for me.” Lina, a French volunteer who has been living in India for a few months, said, “I am enjoying and learning the ways of India’s rich culture, I can speak basic Hindi words now.”

Britain said on Wednesday it would boost funding for two supercomputers which will support research into making advanced artificial intelligence models safe.

Funding for the “AI Research Resource” will be increased to 300 million pounds ($363.57 million) from a previously announced 100 million pounds, the government said at an AI safety summit aimed at charting a safe way forward for the rapidly evolving technology.

“Frontier AI models are becoming exponentially more powerful,” British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said on social media platform X.

“This investment will make sure Britain’s scientific talent have the tools they need to make the most advanced models of AI safe.”

Britain said two new supercomputers, one based in Cambridge and one in Bristol, would give researchers access to resources with more than thirty-times the capacity of Britain’s current largest public AI computing tools.

The machines, which will be running from summer next year, will be used to analyse advanced AI models to test safety features, as well as to drive breakthroughs in drug discovery and clean energy, the government said.

Bristol’s “Isambard-AI” will include 5,000 advanced AI chips from Nvidia in a supercomputer built by Hewlett Packard Enterprise, while the Cambridge machine “Dawn” will be delivered through a partnership with Dell and UK SME StackHPC and powered by more than 1,000 Intel chips, Britain said.

Officials from the army, National Guard and state security departments responded to the crash, the state department for civil protection reported on X, the social network formerly known as Twitter.

Mexico City: Four crew members died Wednesday when an air ambulance crashed in the central Mexican state of Morelos.

The incident took place just before 14:30 p.m. local time, in a wooded, mountainous area near the town of Tetlama, Temixco: a township roughly 30 miles (50 kilometers) south of Mexico City.

Officials from the army, National Guard and state security departments responded to the crash, the state department for civil protection reported on X, the social network formerly known as Twitter.

In images posted to X and Facebook, smoke can be seen billowing from a charred gash in the side of a hill.

The cause of the accident is not known, but the office of Morelos’ Attorney General is opening an investigation.

According to a report by news agency PTI, star India all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who is recovering from an ankle injury, is unlikely to return to action before the team’s World Cup match against the Netherlands on November 12.

India’s final league match is against Netherlands in Bengaluru on November 12.

“It is a minor tear. He is recovering well and is likely to return for the last league game. There is also a possibility that he straight away plays the semifinal,” said a BCCI source.

With six wins in as many games, India are set to qualify for the semifinals.

To compensate for Pandya’s all-round abilities, the team was forced to make two changes to the playing eleven. In his absence, the management is playing with five bowlers with Suryakumar Yadav batting at six in his place.

“The medical team is looking at that and are very much in touch with Hardik and the NCA (National Cricket Academy) as well. We’re hoping to get an update in a couple of days,” Mhambrey had said on Sunday.

As per a BCCI media release, Pandya was supposed to join the team in Lucknow ahead of the England game but he was not with the squad.

Vizianagaram: Andhra Pradesh education minister Botsa Satyanarayana has handed over cheques for compensation amounts to victims of the Kantakapalli train accident.
He called on the victims undergoing treatment at the government general hospital here on Wednesday and advised them to stay in the hospital till they recovered while assuring them that the government would provide them all the required assistance.

Later, talking to media persons, the minister said that the state government was paying Rs.2.59 crore compensation to the families of the 13 persons who died and 30 who were injured. While eight persons received the compensation on Tuesday, 12 others got it on Wednesday and the rest would be paid by Thursday, he said.

According to Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of Waltair Division A.K. Tripathi, ex-gratia payments for the deceased cases were provided by Waltair Division within 20 hours, except in one case where the payment was completed on Tuesday after the process of identification and verification. The railways paid Rs 1.73 crores as exgratia to the victims, he said.

The respect that he commanded from his fellow teammates and rivals is a testament to his impact. Sachin Tendulkar got a fitting reward for his persistence when the Indian cricket team won 2011 World Cup at the Wankhede Stadium, with the superstar being part of the team.

Now, Sachin Tendulkar’s life-sized statue has unveiled at the Wankhede Stadium on the eve of India’s World Cup clash against Sri Lanka.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla, Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) President Amol Kale, Rajya Sabha member Sharad Pawar, and Sachin’s wife Anjali Tendulkar, daughter Sara Tendulkar, and brother Ajit Tendulkar were present during the unveiling of the statue.

The statue is dedicated to 50 years of Tendulkar’s life and has been installed by the MCA near Sachin Tendulkar Stand at the stadium, and it was unveiled today.

Sudhir Kumar Chaudhary, team India’s supporter and a fan of Sachin, was also present during the ceremony. He blew a conch shell and waved the Indian flag.

Sachin is considered as the greatest batter to have played the game. With 34,357 runs in 664 international appearances at an average of 48.52, Sachin is the highest run-scorer in international cricket. He has scored 100 centuries and 164 half-centuries, most in international cricket. He is the only player to have a century of centuries.

With 18,426 runs in ODIs and 15,921 runs in Tests, Sachin also has the highest runs in both formats. He is the first player to hit an ODI double hundred and to have played 200 Test matches.

He also has 201 international wickets to his name, making him a very useful part-time spin bowling option. With a total of 664 international appearances, he is the most-capped player of all time. He is part of the Indian Team which won the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2011.

Sachin has played six IPL seasons from 2008-2013, all for Mumbai Indians, where he has scored a total of 2334 runs in 78 matches at an average of 34.84. Sachin has 13 fifties and one hundred under his belt, hitting 29 sixes and 295 fours with a strike rate of 119.82. He won the 2013 edition of the tournament with the franchise as a player.

Sachin’s best performance came in IPL 2010. He scored 618 runs in 15 matches at an average of 47.53 at a strike rate of 132.61. He scored five fifties that season and his best individual score was 89*. He won the ‘Orange Cap’ that season. MI finished as runners-up that season.
