KTR goes ballistic against PM Modi’s white lies

Hyderabad: BRS working president and IT Minister KT Rama Rao on Tuesday tore into Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his disparaging remarks made against the BRS and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, stating that the Prime Minister had lowered the status and dignity of his office with such mendacious propaganda.

Reacting to the outbursts of the Prime Minister against the BRS leadership, he said Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was a born fighter, and that he would never join his hands with a cheater.

“We are not bitten by a rabid dog to go insane and join a ship that is sinking. We are not the ‘gulams’ of either Delhi or Gujarat. We will not be cowed down by any threats,” he said.

There cannot be anything more atrocious than giving a fabricated version about a meeting between a Chief Minister and a Prime Minister, two constitutional authorities. The Prime Minister stooped down to such a low to spread canards about the Chief Minister by giving out a fabricated version packed with lies. Such being the stance of the Prime Minister, one needs to be cautious, he said.

“You may have to engage a video camera in support of your version when it calls for engaging in talks with such a person. Unfortunately the Chief Minister is indisposed to respond to the white lies of the Prime Minister. That is the reason I was obliged to respond on behalf of the Chief Minister. Even the Prime Minister’s educational qualifications are dubious,” he said, asking what more could he say about him.

On Modi’s charge that the Chief Minister had sought his consent to make him (Rama Rao) the Chief Minister of the State, he dismissed it stating that there was no need for the approval of the Prime Minister for making anyone the Chief Minister of the State. It needs the approval of only the BRS Legislature party and the party for making any such decisions and not of Modi, he said.

Stating that the people of Telangana would not subscribe to Modi’s false propaganda, he said they were firm on making K Chandrashekhar Rao the Chief Minister for the third term in a row. The BJP on the other hand, would take a severe drubbing. It had lost deposits in 105 assembly constituencies last time in the State and this time, would lose deposits in 110 seats, he said.

Modi, he said, was an unwanted, unwelcome guest in Telangana, who had done nothing for Telangana in the last nine years. Listing out the discriminatory acts of Modi towards Telangana, from not sanctioning medical colleges, nursing colleges, not approving the State’s irrigation projects and refusing to grant national status to the projects, Rama Rao said Modi had praised Telangana’s youth for their talent at Nizamabad, but at the same time, was strangling them by scrapping projects like the Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR).

Modi had questioned the very existence and birth of Telangana, he pointed out, with the PM repeating several times that ‘the mother was killed to give birth to the daughter’.

“What can we expect from such a person?” he asked, also countering the PM’s allegations of welfare funds being ‘looted’, stating that Telangana was the fourth largest contributor to the country’s GDP, with details of every penny spent being available with the RBI. The people would decide who was looting public money, he said, adding that it did not befit the status of a Prime Minister to level such baseless allegations.

Rama Rao, who listed out the multiple lies Modi had spoke right from 2014, pointed at the claims of a 5 trillion economy, of doubling farmers’ incomes, of Rs.15 lakh to every citizen’s account and of drinking water to every household in the country.

He also countered the dynasty politics allegations of the PM, stating that for Modi, dynasty politics did not matter when it came to the BJP tying up with Mehbooba Mufti, the daughter of Mufti Mohammed Saeed, or with Parkash Singh Badal’s son Sukhbir Singh Badal, or with Bal Thaceray’s son Uddhav Thackeray, or with HD Deve Gowda’s son Kumaraswamy, all to suit the BJP’s opportunistic politics.

Calling BJP the biggest ‘Jhoot’ factory of India with Modi as its Chancellor and running the WhatsApp University, Rama Rao also countered Modi’s allegation of the BRS and the Congress helping each other financially, asking what the I-T department was doing if that was true.

The political tourists of BJP should also explain why Modi had not agreed for a JPC probe into the Adani Row, and also on Modi speaking to the Sri Lankan President for a Rs.6,000 crore contract for Adani, he said.

Modi is highly apprehensive of KCR

Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi going ballistic all of a sudden against the BRS Supremo K Chandrashekhar Rao is not without a reason. Modi is highly apprehensive of the Chandrasekhar Rao. His outbursts have obviously stemmed from the BRS foray into national politics, opined B Vinod Kumar, Vice Chairman of the State Planning Board on Tuesday.

Terming Modi’s remarks against the Chief Minister as ‘disparaging’, he questioned as to why Modi chose to talk about Chandrashekhar Rao after such a long gap. Modi did not like Telangana State. For that matter, he did not like even Tamil Nadu and Kerala states too.

When Modi came to Hyderabad after the pandemic, he did not want KCR to attend the official programmes, he was attending. Why hadn’t Modi said no to K Chandrashekhar Rao when the latter sought to meet him on his visit to the State at that time, he wondered. What did Modi’s visit have to do with the GHMC elections, he questioned.

Aboobacker Abdulla, another Indian athlete, finished fourth with a distance of 16.62m, which he achieved in his second jump.

Assam to conduct socio-economic survey of indigenous Muslim communities

The Assam government said that it will conduct a socio-economic survey of the state’s five indigenous Muslim communities so that measures can be taken for their upliftment.

Assam to conduct socio-economic survey of indigenous Muslim communities

Guwahati: The Assam government on Tuesday said that it will conduct a socio-economic survey of the state’s five indigenous Muslim communities so that measures can be taken for their upliftment.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma held a meeting with senior officials at the state secretariat regarding it.

“In a meeting held at Janata Bhawan, HCM Dr @himantabiswa directed the officials concerned to carry out a socio-economic assessment of Assam’s Indigenous Muslim communities (Goria, Moria, Deshi, Syed & Jolha),” the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) posted on X.

The findings of the assessment will guide the state government to take suitable measures, aimed at comprehensive socio-political and educational upliftment of the indigenous minorities, it said.

The development comes a day after the Nitish Kumar government in Bihar released findings of its much-awaited caste survey, months ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, which revealed that OBCs and EBCs constitute 63 per cent of the state’s total population.

Leader of the Opposition Debabrata Saikia said a survey should be carried out for all communities, especially the backward ones, in Assam.

“Goria and Moria are indigenous Muslim communities and belong to the OBC category. Then why is the government doing a selective survey? If they have any good intentions, the survey should be done for all OBCs as well as SCs and STs,” he said.

Saikia asserted that there are constitutional provisions for a survey for the Other Backward Classes (OBC), Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST).

“Conducting a survey only for the Muslims, mainly the OBC Muslims, is a divisionary tactic of the BJP government. It is also a reactionary move after the Bihar government’s caste survey, which was published yesterday,” he added.

The senior Congress leader further said that funds were allocated by the Sarbananda Sonowal-led Assam government for the socio-economic survey of the indigenous Muslim communities, but it was never done.

While presenting the state budget for 2019-20, Sarma, who was then the finance minister, hailed the important role played by the indigenous Muslims — Goria, Moria, Ujani, Deshi, Jolha, Poimal, Syed — in the social and economic progress of the state.

He had announced plans to establish a development corporation for the indigenous Muslims to take up various programmes aimed at the holistic development of this section of society, including self-employment opportunities.

According to the 2011 census, Assam had a total Muslim population of 1.07 crore, making up 34.22 per cent of the total 3.12 crore residents of the state. There were 1.92 crore Hindus in the state, around 61.47 per cent of the total population.

Jagtial: IT Minister KT Rama Rao said the Congress party was responsible for the death of hundreds of Telangana protagonists. It was the Congress party which formed Andhra Pradesh by forcefully merging Telangana and Andhra regions in 1956.

Congress had also shot dead 378 Telangana sympathizers during the 1968 separate State agitation. In 1971, out of 14 MPs, Telangana people elected 11 MPs who contested on behalf of Telangana Prajasamithi and sent them to the Parliament under the leadership of Marri Chenna Reddy.

However, the Congress humiliated the Telangana agitation by taking them into its fold. Congress was also responsible for the death of 1,200 people by dragging the Telangana formation issue till 2014 by promising it in 2004, Rama Rao said at the Pragathi Nivedhana Sabha in Dharmapuri on Tuesday.

The Congress, which struggled to give even Rs.200 as pension, was now promising Rs 4,000 as pension if it was elected to power. People would again be cheated in the hands of the Congress if it was voted to power, he said, adding that the K Chandrashekar Rao government was providing Rs.2,016 as pension to 4.26 lakh beedi workers, when no other State was doing this though there were beedi workers in 16 States.
