Hyderabad: Two persons were arrested by the Rachakonda police for allegedly transporting ganja and seized 250 kilograms of the contraband worth Rs. 75 lakh on Saturday.

The arrested persons are Malayli Swamy alias Shiva (31) and Raamar (39), both natives of Tamil nadu and residents of Chandrayangutta. Two others Rajesh and Chandra Sekhar are absconding.

Rachakonda Commissioner of Police, D S Chauhan said the Shiva and Raamar, at the instance of Rajesh, went to Odisha and purchased Ganja from Chandra Sekhar and brought it to the city or carried it to some other destination as directed by Rajesh and handed it over to them.

“To mislead the police, the suspects concealed the contraband under a load of coconut coir,” said D S Chauhan.

On a tip off, Rachakonda Special Operations Team (Maheshwaram) caught them along with the Meerpet police. The police registered a case.

‘Basic framework’ in place for Tel Aviv-Riyadh normalization

“All sides have hammered out, I think, a basic framework for what, you know, what we might be able to drive at,” National Security Council spokesman John Kirby told reporters.

“But, as in any complex arrangement, as this will inevitably be, everybody is going to have to do something. And everybody is going to have to compromise on some things,” Zionist media outlets cited Kirby as saying.

This comes as earlier in September, the London-based Elaph online newspaper, citing an Israeli official, reported that Washington has informed Tel Aviv of Riyadh’s stance that the “extremist” nature of the occupying regime led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is “torpedoing any possibility of rapprochement with the Palestinians, and therefore with the Saudis.”

Washington’s efforts for adding Saudi Arabia to the list of Arab countries that have signed the Abraham Accords come at a critical time when Biden is seeking re-election and the US government has been left embarrassed by the kingdom’s bolstering of ties with Iran and Syria, and its further gravitation toward China.

The UAE, Bahrain, Sudan, and Morocco signed US-brokered normalization agreements with Israel in 2020, drawing condemnations from Palestinians who slammed the deals as “a stab in the back of the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian people.”
