Senior Bahraini cleric hails Hamas operation against Israel

Bahrain’s highest Shia religious authority Sheikh Isa Qassim has hailed the Palestinian offensive by the Hamas resistance movement against Israel.

In a statement released on Monday, the senior cleric said Operation al-Aqsa Storm was a “humiliation, disgrace, and a scandal” for the regime.

“The al-Aqsa Flood is a rare lesson in courage, intense bravery, enormous sacrificial risk, careful planning, [and] abundant faith,” the statement read.

Sheikh Qassim said the message of the operation should be “received by our glorious nation [Ummah] of faith” as a demonstration that “nothing stands between the nation and sweeping victory except a united stance to recover Palestine.”

Elsewhere in his remarks, the cleric condemned certain Muslim countries for normalization of relations with Israel. He also denounced Manama’s decision in 2020 to establish official diplomatic ties with Israel.

“There is no longer any room for feeling weak, nor for respecting normalization or being courteous to those who call for it,” the Shia cleric said. “Today, the nation’s confidence in victory must grow, its determination to defeat the enemy must intensify, and its unity on this path must be achieved.”

Israel has stepped up attacks on the besieged Gaza Strip as its troops struggled to clear out Hamas resistance fighters more than two days after they burst across the fence from Gaza and overran a number of Israeli bases.

On Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the regime was “at war.”

Netanyahu’s office said the cabinet voted to put Israel officially at war, and it can carry out “significant military activities.”

The decision, announced on Sunday, formally authorizes “the taking of significant military steps,” it said in a statement.

Netanyahu warned of a “long and difficult” war ahead.

The Israeli military has said dozens of warplanes were carrying out a wave of “intense” airstrikes on Gaza.

US unconditional military support for Israel

Meanwhile, the Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin said he has ordered the Ford carrier strike group to sail to the Eastern Mediterranean to be ready to assist Israel.

Israeli warplanes bombed a densely populated neighborhood at the Jabalia refugee camp in the occupied West Bank.

The Gaza Health Ministry said the death toll from the attacks had reached 510, including 91 children and 61 women, with over 2,700 others injured.

In a statement, the Israeli military said it had dropped some 2,000 munitions on Gaza in 20 hours.

The military said more than 700 Israelis have been killed since the operation was launched on Saturday, but Yediot Ahronot said it estimated there were 1,000 deaths.

Hamas has said the unprecedented operation came in response to Israel’s crimes against Palestinians in the occupied territories, its 16-year-old blockade of Gaza and the regime’s violations at al-Aqsa Mosque.

NATO weapons supplied to Ukraine are used in Israel: Medvedev

“Well, well, my Nato friends, there you have it, don’t you? The weapons supplied to the neo-Nazi regime in Ukraine are being widely used in Israel,” he wrote on his Telegram channel.

Medvedev warned that this weaponry, “like the weapons left behind by the US forces that fled Afghanistan,” would further be used uncontrollably in all trouble spots.

Medvedev noted that even before “the corrupt Ukrainian authorities were in the habit of trading everything they laid hands on.”

“They were stealing gas and oil, foods and materials. They were stealing everything that came their way. Further on it will only get worse. You should expect missiles, tanks, and airplanes from Kyiv to surface on the black market soon,” Medvedev pointed out, TASS reported.

Dozens killed as Israel strikes Gaza refugee camp

Gaza’s health ministry said there were dozens of Palestinians killed and wounded in Israeli air strikes on the Jabalia refugee camp on Monday (October 9).

Fires and damaged buildings could be seen in the Jabalia refugee camp, located in the North of the Gaza Strip, following an Israel airstrike in the area.

Damage was seen in various areas across the strip, as residents woke up to another day of the war, some looking for their belongings among the rubble of their homes and stores.

Fighting between Israeli forces and Islamist group Hamas was ongoing at seven or eight locations near Gaza two days after Hamas gunmen killed 700 Israelis and abducted dozens more in the deadliest raid into Israeli territory since Egypt and Syria’s attacks in the Yom Kippur war 50 years ago.

Israel uses banned chemical bombs on Palestine civilians

As the Israeli regime continues attacks on Gaza that have had a devastating impact on the region, causing widespread destruction and suffering, videos have gone viral on social media sites showing the use of banned white phosphorus bombs by the regime on densely populated areas in northern Gaza, Palestine, Free Press Kashmir reports.

A video circulating on social media appears to show these munitions descending from the sky. This development follows recent attacks by Hamas soldiers on Israel as Hamas was retaliating to ongoing occupation crimes Israel is committing in Palestine.

The relentless airstrikes and military operations have not only taken a toll on infrastructure but have also resulted in the loss of civilian lives and the displacement of thousands of Palestinians.

Schools, hospitals, homes, and essential facilities have been damaged or destroyed, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The ongoing conflict has left many Palestinians without access to basic necessities such as clean water, food, and medical care, further deepening their plight.

The international community has called for an immediate ceasefire and a peaceful resolution to the conflict in order to mitigate the immense human suffering and destruction in Gaza.

Hamas-Israeli conflict causes massive flight cancellation, suspension in Tel Aviv

Fierce Hamas-Israeli clashes have led to a massive flight cancellation and suspension at the Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv.

On Sunday, the airport only had a few flights departed or arrived on time.

The cancellation and delay of flights have caused troubles to many travelers who were seen rushing to ticketing counters to rebook their flights.

Signs for shelter can be seen being erected across the airport, while only a very few travelers were seen queuing up at the security checkpoints.

Many local hotels also suspended their public services like gyms and arranged makeshift shelters for customers.

The Islamic Resistance Movement, or Hamas, announced military operations against Israel on Saturday, with thousands of rocket shells fired to Israel and armed personnel clashing with Israeli troops.

Tel Aviv is one of the targets of Hamas attacks, and some buildings have been hit in the city.

Australians rally in support of Palestinians

Over a thousand Sydney residents marched in solidarity with Palestinians at a ‘Free Palestine: No war on Gaza’ rally, hours before the Sydney Opera House lit up in blue and white for Israel.

Protesters marched to the Sydney Opera House and voiced their anger at the situation in Gaza and the Australian government’s support of Israel. Flares were lit and some thrown at the stairs in front of the Sydney Opera House as the blue and white projection on the sails was delayed by over half an hour.

Fighters from Islamist group Hamas killed 700 Israelis and abducted dozens more as they attacked Israel on Saturday (October 7), the deadliest incursion into Israeli territory since Egypt and Syria’s attacks in the Yom Kippur war 50 years ago.

In response, Israeli air strikes hit housing blocks, tunnels, a mosque and homes of Hamas officials in Gaza on Sunday (October 8), killing more than 400 people, including 20 children, in keeping with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s vow of “mighty vengeance.”

Zionists assisted Resistance in Al Aqsa Storm op.: sources

A Palestinian Resistance official told Tasnim News Agency that some Israeli army forces had been cooperating with the Resistance groups for a long time and they provided some information about the areas that the Resistance infilitrated into during the Al-Aqsa Storm Operation.

The source said that in the “Al-Aqsa Storm” operation, the Palestinian Resistance used this information to infiltrate the towns and especially the military bases around Gaza.

Saying that this cooperation is not only limited to information issues, the source added that the Palestinians, for a long time, have been suppled a large part of their equipment by the soldiers and the Israeli army.

Operation al-Aqsa Storm is the biggest operation launched by Palestinian groups against the occupying entity in years. It has so far led to the death of hundreds of Israeli settlers and troops while, according to unofficial estimates, approximately 750 Israeli soldiers and settlers have gone missing.
