Hamas praises al-Aqsa Storm as ‘legitimate’ Palestinian right to self-defense

The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has lauded the recent surprise attack against Israel as a “legitimate right” of the Palestinians in response to the illegal entity’s decades-long aggression and the silence of the international community.

Hamas made the statement on the third day of Operation al-Aqsa Storm, the largest military operation against the regime in decades.

The resistance groups in the besieged Gaza Strip have since Saturday fired more than 5,000 rockets at the occupied territories, with Israeli media outlets saying more than 900 settlers and troops have been killed as a result and over 2,600 others injured.

“The battle of al-Aqsa Storm is a legitimate right for our people to defend themselves, their land, and their sanctities, in light of the continued aggression of the occupation and the silence and failure of the world to put an end to its escalating terrorism, and its denial of all the rights of our people and their aspirations to liberate their land and achieve a return to it,” Hamas said.

Enumerating the reasons that prompted the large-scale operation, Hamas referred to the escalating violations by Israeli settlers against the al-Aqsa Mosque in the occupied Old City of al-Quds and the regime’s prevention of Muslim worship.

Hamas denounced the Israeli settlement expansion in the occupied West Bank and al-Quds.

The resistance movement also said one of the reasons for launching Operation al-Aqsa Storm was Israel’s escalation of violations and crimes against Palestinian prisoners.

Hamas pointed to “the brutal war waged by the fascist occupation regime against our people in the occupied West Bank, and the policy of segregation, racial discrimination and ethnic cleansing” in addition to “the continuation of the unjust siege on the Gaza Strip for more than 16 years, and the catastrophic effects it has had on more than two million Palestinian citizens.”

Hamas renewed its call “to all countries of the world, to assume their political and humanitarian responsibilities, to do justice to our people and support their legitimate struggle for freedom and self-determination, and to establish their independent, fully sovereign state with al-Quds as its capital, and to end the longest and most dangerous ongoing occupation in the world.”

Since early Saturday, the large-scale multi-pronged operation has featured heavy rocket barrages and surprise attacks by resistance fighters against Israeli forces and settlers in the occupied territories.

Palestinian resistance leaders have described the operation as a decisive answer to the regime’s unabated campaign of bloodshed and destruction.

West promoting deceptive narrative on Hamas operation: Malaysia’s ex-PM

Malaysia’s former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad has censured Western states and their media outlets for their hypocrisy toward the recent Palestinian operation against Israel.

In a Monday post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Mahathir said the narrative run by certain Western states was far from truth given the “seven decades” of atrocities by Israel against the Palestinians.

“With that narrative, they stoked fear in the Western community, claiming that it is an attack on democracy and peace-loving people and that the United States in particular felt justified to extend military support to Israel to retaliate against Palestinians attacks.”

“Instead of addressing the conflict for what it actually is, they chose to continue with their deceptive narrative that it is an attack on Israel by terrorists,” Mahathir said.

“They are outright lies which have been perpetuated unashamedly by Western leaders and their media.”

“The truth is actually very simple, the Israelis had been committing war crimes, massacres, genocide and unthinkable atrocities against the Palestinians.”

“These are not one-off acts but rather systematically conducted without respite throughout the seven decades.”

‘West an active partner to Israeli apartheid, genocide’

Mahathir said Washington and its Western allies have been active partners to Israeli crimes against the Palestinians.

“The Western powers and the US are party to apartheid, genocide and crimes against humanity for as long as they support the heinous Israeli regime.”

The former Malaysian prime minister said the Western camp remains silent when Israeli settlers forcefully seize Palestinian land and farms across the occupied territories.

“The Palestinians are chased out of their land and any attempt to seek some form of restitution from the Israeli authorities are met with violence backed most times by the Israeli forces.”

“The Palestinians, pushed to the corner, while Gaza was turned into an open-air prison, attempted sporadic retaliations, which in turn were met with the full force of the IDF with weapons supplied by superpowers in particular the US,” Mahathir said, referring to the Israeli military.

“This episode is not any different from previous retaliations except that probably this time around they are more focused with a bit more assistance externally.”

Mahathir said peace will not be achievable until the Palestinians are granted full rights. “With that, any attempt towards finding a just and fair solution for the Palestinians becomes an exercise in futility.”

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has condemned Israel’s ongoing attacks on the people in Palestine. The OIC says the principal cause of the latest bloody conflict is the regime’s disregard for the legitimate rights of the Palestinians.

Israel has launched deadly airstrikes on the besieged Gaza Strip. The bombardment came after the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas began a multi-pronged operation from Gaza into the occupied territories in what the group described as a response to weeks of violence against the Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and the continued presence of Israeli extremists in the al-Aqsa Mosque, one of Islam’s holiest sites located in the occupied city of al-Quds.

Israel starts using internationally banned white phosphorus in Gaza attacks: Report

The Israeli regime begins using unlawful white phosphorus munitions in its attacks on the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli regime has started using internationally banned white phosphorus in its bombing of the Gaza Strip, a report says, as the regime continues to target residential neighborhoods in the densely-populated Palestinian territory.

The Monday report by the Arabic-language Al Alam news channel said the Israeli regime’s military had fired white phosphorus shells over residential areas in Gaza earlier in the day.

The use of white phosphorus shells for direct targeting of enemy positions is illegal under international law as the practice can amount to war crime and cause widespread fatalities.

Israel admitted to “using munitions containing white phosphorus” during its 2008-2009 war on Gaza but the regime denied violating international law by insisting that such weapons were not fired into areas populated by civilians.

Videos published on social media on Monday purportedly showed the regime firing white phosphorus shells over densely-populated regions in Gaza, a Palestinian territory located on the Mediterranean where some 2.3 million people live under constant Israeli siege.

The attacks are part of a massive onslaught launched by Israel in Gaza since Saturday when its settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories came under a series of unprecedented attacks by the Gaza-based Hamas resistance movement.

More than 680 people have been killed and thousands more injured as a result of Israeli attacks on Gaza.

The number of Israeli fatalities from attacks by Hamas and other Palestinian groups reached nearly 800 on Monday, according to reports published by the Israeli media.

Palestinians say Saturday’s attacks on Israeli-controlled settlements and military posts were a response to growing violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank in recent months as well as the recurrent presence of Israeli extremists in al-Aqsa Mosque, one of the holiest sites in Islam which is located in the occupied city of al-Quds.

Iran played no part in Palestine's response against Zionists

In a statement issued on Monday in response to recent claims by Wall Street Journal, Iran’s UN mission said that Iran emphatically stands in unflinching support of Palestine.

The statement added that Iran is not involved in Palestine’s response, as it is taken solely by Palestine itself.

The resolute measures taken by Palestine constitute a wholly legitimate defense against seven decades of oppressive occupation and heinous crimes committed by the illegitimate Zionist regime, the statement read.

The Zionists are making attempts to justify their failure and attribute it to Iran’s intelligence power and operational planning, it added.

Operation al-Aqsa Storm is the biggest operation launched by Palestinian groups against the occupying entity in years. It has so far led to the death of hundreds of Israeli settlers and troops while, according to official figures released by the occupying regime, over 900 Zionists have been killed.

In relevant remarks earlier today, Iran’s top human rights official Kazem Gharibabadi said that the actions of the Palestinian Resistance actions are a legitimate defense against the crimes committed against them by the Zionist regime.

Iran: Muslim nations must rush to aid Palestinians against Israel

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian urges Muslim countries to rush to support the Palestinian people in their fight against the Israeli regime.

“Under the current circumstances, the [Palestinian] people in the occupied Gaza Strip and the West Bank need support of Muslim countries more than ever,” Amir-Abdollahian said in a phone call with Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi on Monday.

He added that Iran and Oman have always supported the Palestinian people in the face of the Israeli enemy.

Pointing to Israel’s crimes against the Palestinian people, the top Iranian diplomat said the regime killed 260 Palestinians, including 40 children and 11 women, in recent months.

He added that the Israeli regime has also arrested more Palestinians in the West Bank as the number of Palestinian prisoners has reached nearly 5,000, about 200 of whom are women and children.

Amir-Abdollahian emphasized that the Tel Aviv regime also escalated its military attacks on al-Aqsa Mosque and carried out more sacrilegious acts against it.

The ongoing massive military operation by the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas was a response to Israel’s measures, he pointed out.

The Iranian foreign minister said that in separate phone calls with a number of his counterparts from Muslim countries, he called for an immediate emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to discuss the Palestinian issue.

Since early Saturday, the large-scale multi-pronged operation has featured heavy rocket barrages and surprise attacks by resistance fighters against Israeli forces and settlers in the occupied territories.

Palestinian resistance leaders have described the operation as a decisive answer to the regime’s unabated campaign of bloodshed and destruction against Palestinians.

The resistance groups in the besieged Gaza Strip have since the launch of Operation Al-Aqsa Storm fired more than 5,000 rockets at the occupied territories, with Israeli media outlets saying more than 800 settlers and troops have been killed as a result and over 2,400 others injured.

For his part, Albusaidi said Oman like other countries in the region and the world expresses its sympathy with the Palestinian people over the killing of hundreds of innocent civilians.

The Omani foreign minister added that the international community must recognize the Palestinian people’s right to determine their own fate and liberate the occupied territories.

Iran, Oman FMs stress shared Muslims stance against Zionists

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian discussed the latest developments in the region, especially the developments in Palestine, in a phone call with Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Oman on Monday evening.

Referring to the crimes committed by the Zionist regime against the Palestinian people in recent months, the Iranian foreign minister stated, “In recent months, 260 Palestinians, including 40 children and 11 women, were martyred by the Zionists, and the detention of Palestinians in the West Bank has intensified, and the number of Palestinian prisoners has reached about 5,000 people, of whom about 200 are women and children.”

Amir-Abdollahian added, “At the same time, attacks and military aggressions and insults and attacks on the Al-Aqsa Mosque are continuously on the agenda of the Zionist regime, and the result of these actions by the Zionist regime is the response of the resistance.”

While appreciating Oman’s positions in supporting the Palestinian people, the Iranian minister said, “Iran and Oman have always supported Palestine, and in the current situation, the people of Gaza and the West Bank need the support of Islamic governments more than ever.”

The head of the Iranian diplomatic apparatus pointed to the phone conversations he had with some ministers of Islamic countries and suggested that an emergency meeting of the ministers of OIC members be held soon.

The top Omani diplomat also stated in the phone call that “in light of the martyrdom of hundreds of innocent and homeless civilians in Gaza, we, like the other countries of the world and the region, express our sympathy with the Palestinian people.”

Albusaidi emphasized that the Palestinian issue should be at the top of the world agenda and the international community should recognize the right of Palestinians to determine their own fate and liberate the occupied territories.

Some Israeli military personnel collaborated in al-Aqsa Storm: Report

An informed Palestinian official says some Israeli military personnel collaborated with Palestinian resistance groups in the fields of logistics and intelligence in the recent surprise attack against the occupying regime.

The Palestinian source, belonging to resistance groups, made the revelation in an exclusive interview with Iran’s Tasnim news agency on the third day of Operation al-Aqsa Storm, the largest military operation against the illegal entity in years.

The resistance groups in the besieged Gaza Strip have since Saturday fired more than 5,000 rockets at the occupied territories, with Israeli media outlets saying more than 800 settlers and troops have been killed as a result and over 2,400 others injured.

The informed source told Tasnim news agency that some of the information obtained from the “infiltration spots” had been acquired through long-time collaboration of certain Israeli military personnel with the resistance groups.

“During al-Aqsa Storm, the information played a crucial role in facilitating the infiltration of forces into Israeli districts, especially the military bases surrounding Gaza,” the source said.

The official underlined that the cooperation has not been limited to intelligence and the Palestinians have for a long time been procuring a large part of their equipment from the soldiers and the body of the Israeli military.

Tasnim said numerous reports in Hebrew-language news outlets have underscored the importance of bolstered security measures within the Israeli military as the issue of drug addiction among Israeli soldiers, particularly reservists, had made many soldiers exchange their weapons for money or narcotics with Palestinians.

On December 16, 2021, Israel’s Channel 13 reported the theft of more than 100,000 bullets from an arsenal of M16 rifles at a military base of the Alexandroni Brigade in northern Palestine. However, the Israeli police announced that over 150,000 bullets had been stolen.

Media reports also claimed Palestinian groups, particularly their special forces, have predominantly used in recent years equipment that is in the possession of the Israeli regime’s military.

According to Tasnim, reports indicate Palestinian groups obtain their supply of arms through three main ways, including purchasing weapons from arms traffickers in Israel, from the regime’s arsenals and arms depots, as well as collaborating with certain Israeli military units.

The news agency said the Israeli military apparatus has been cooperating with the resistance groups and the fact has forced the regime to eliminate a considerable number of its military personnel in recent years.

“Such an approach adopted by the Zionists has resulted in the growing number of suspicious death of Israeli officers, non-commissioned officers, and soldiers. Nevertheless, many of those deaths have remained undisclosed under strict censorship of military news,” it added.

Underlining that the Palestinian resistance groups’ success in infiltrating the Israeli military and intelligence services has posed new major challenges to the regime’s leaders, Tasnim said, “Such security breaches in the Israeli army have put pressure on many commanders and it appears that after the conclusion of al-Aqsa Storm, a large number of senior military and security commanders of the Zionist regime will be punished severely or dismissed.”

Russia warns of foreign involvement in Palestinian conflict as US sends warships

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov

Russia has warned against any involvement of a third party in the ongoing tension in Palestine after the United States relocated its warships to waters close to the Israeli-occupied territories.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday that it would urge all parties involved in the ongoing tension to try to reduce any escalation rather than seek a military solution.

“The risk of third forces becoming involved in this conflict is high … It is very important to find ways as soon as possible to move towards some kind of negotiation process in order to reduce this escalation and move away from a military solution,” Peskov was quoted as saying TASS news agency.

The comments came a day after US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said it will send multiple military ships and aircraft closer to waters controlled by Israel as a show of support for the regime just after it was caught off guard by a massive attack by the Palestinian resistance group Hamas.

In a statement, Hamas has condemned the US decision as “aggression” against Palestinians, saying, “The announcement of the US that it will provide an aircraft carrier to support the occupation [Israel] is actual participation in the aggression against our people.”

Nearly 800 Israelis have been killed and many more have been injured in rocket attacks and ground operations launched by Hamas from the Gaza Strip, the group in based.

Israel has launched rounds of airstrikes on Gaza since Saturday, killing more than 560 people and injuring thousands more.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Monday that the way out of the Palestinian conflict is for the Israeli regime and its backers to recognize Palestine’s right to create an independent state.

Speaking in a press conference in Moscow along the visiting head of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit on Monday, Lavrov said that Russia doubts West’s policy on the Israeli regime would work at all.

“They say that (fighting) should be stopped immediately, that Israel should destroy the terrorists,” Lavrov said, referring to the way Israel and its backers describe Palestinian fighters.

“But this was done before… and never after the situation calmed down did they come to the fact that the main reason (for the conflict) needs to be eliminated … The Palestinian problem should not be delayed further,” he said.
