Iran FM stresses WHO to help Gaza with medical aid

Amir-Abdollahian met and held talks with Hanan Balkhy, the WHO Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean on Monday.

The top Iranian diplomat said that the crimes and genocide of the Zionist regime in Gaza are not limited to bombing and many Palestinians, especially children and women, are dying due to hunger, disease, and lack of medicine.

While thanking Balkhy for her special attention and efforts in the direction of developing cooperation among major regional countries, especially Iran, with the World Health Organization, Amir-Abdollahian emphasized his country’s readiness to strengthen cooperation and interaction with the World Health Organization in bilateral and regional dimensions.

For her part, Balkhy expressed her satisfaction with her trip to Iran, emphasizing the efforts of the WHO in cooperation with international partners to send humanitarian aid to Gaza but said these efforts have not been fruitful so far due to the Zionist regime’s crimes in the enclave.

She expressed hope that with the cessation of Israeli violence and war in Gaza, the opportunity to provide humanitarian aid and healthcare will be possible.

Smallest action against Iran to be met with severe response

President Raeisi made the remarks in a telephone conversation with the Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Monday night.

Touching upon the recent developments in the region, the Iranian president stressed the need to stop the Israeli regime’s crimes in the Gaza Strip.

The horrific crimes of the Zionists have continued with the full support of the US and some Western countries, while the oppressed and powerful people of Gaza are still victorious with their resistance, Raeisi underlined.

Referring to the terrorist attack carried out by the regime of Tel Aviv against Iran’s consulate in Damascus on April 1, Raeisi criticized the irresponsibility of the United Nations and the UN Security Council to fulfill their duty and condemn the Israeli aggression considering international law.

Due to the ineffectiveness of the international body in condemning the Israeli crime, the Islamic Republic of Iran, in line with exercising its right to self-defense based on Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, designed and executed an operation against the same centers that the Zionists attacked Iran’s diplomatic building, he added.

Reiterating the need for the Islamic countries to take deterrent measures against the continuation of the Zionist regime’s crimes in Gaza, Raeisi considered the blind support of some Western countries to the Zionist regime as a cause of tension in the region.

“As we have already officially announced, Operation True Promise was successfully carried out with the aim of punishing the aggressor. Now we firmly declare that the smallest action against Iran’s interests will definitely be met with a severe, extensive, and painful response against all its perpetrators,” the Iranian president emphasized.

The Qatari Emir, for his part, said that Iran and Qatar have supported each other in all situations.

Referring to his country’s efforts to condemn the Israeli aggression on Iran’s consulate in Damascus, he added, “Today, we are witnessing the highest level of global and popular convergence in support of the Palestinian cause, and the Zionist regime is trying to divert the world’s public opinion from its crimes in Gaza by making the situation tense.”

He praised the tact of the Islamic Republic of Iran in designing and implementing the response to the crime of the Zionist regime and considered it to contain a clear message for everyone.

US warned about consequences of repeated Israeli adventurism

The top diplomat made the remarks in a Monday phone call with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi.

“We have clearly warned the White House that, in case of [fresh] adventurism by the Zionist regime in repeating terrorist aggression against Iran’s interests and security, Tehran’s subsequent response and action would be decisive, immediate, and extensive,” Amir-Abdollahian said.

On April 1, the Israeli regime committed a terrorist attack against Iran’s diplomatic premises in the Syrian capital Damascus.

The Israeli attack resulted in the martyrdom of Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi, a commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), his deputy, General Mohammad Hadi Haji Rahimi, and five of their accompanying officers.

Retaliating against the attack, the IRGC targeted the occupied territories late on Saturday with a barrage of drones and missiles. The retaliatory attack, dubbed Operation True Promise, has inflicted damage on Israeli military bases across the occupied territories.

Following the reprisal, Iran both relayed the message that it viewed the matter as “concluded,” and also warned the US, the Israeli regime’s biggest ally, against trying to involve itself in the conflict.

For his part, the Chinese official said Beijing vehemently condemned the attack on the Iranian Embassy in Damascus, considering it to be in violation of international rules and principles.

Wang noted how his country had likewise supported the Islamic Republic’s just demands at the United Nations Security Council, despite double-standard practices on the part of the US and its Western allies, which saw them refusing to condemn the Israeli atrocity.

He said he had notified his American counterpart, Antony Blinken, about the Iran’s principled position concerning the recent developments.

“China and the Islamic Republic are strategic partners,” Wang added, saying, “Beijing always attaches great importance to Iran’s positions and standpoint.”

Freedom-seeking nations hail Iran's Operation True Promise

Soon after the assault, Iran responded to the measure which was in the exercise of Iran’s inherent right to self-defense as outlined in Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations, and in response to the Israeli recurring military aggressions, particularly its armed attack on 1st April 2024 against Iranian diplomatic premises, in the defiance of Article 2 (4) of the Charter of the United Nations.

Iranian forces launched extensive strikes on the Israeli-occupied territories on April 13 in response to the Zionist regime’s terrorist attack on Iran’s diplomatic mission in the Syrian capital Damascus on April 1, which led to the martyrdom of seven Iranian military advisors.

Iran’s anti-Israel operation was conducted by Shahed 131/136 Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), Kheibar Shekan ballistic missiles, Emad ballistic missiles, and Paveh cruise missiles.

People across Iran were on the streets overnight on Sunday to show their support for the legitimate defense.

According to Al Mayadeen, the Zionist media admitted that Iran’s response on April 13 to the Israeli regime’s missile attack on the Iranian consulate in Syria was the most concentrated and coordinated attack using precision munitions (guided missiles) in the history of global security.

The Israeli newspaper “Haaretz” has admitted that the Israeli regime was defeated against Iran’s punitive act.

“We’ve lost. Truth must be told. The inability to admit it encapsulates everything you need to know about Israel’s individual and mass psychology,” Haaretz wrote on its X account on Sunday.

Lebanese group Hezbollah has praised Iran’s attack on Israel, describing it as a “brave” decision.

Hezbollah added in a statement that Iran had exercised its legal rights despite “threats, intimidation, and pressure”.

Legitimate self-defense, punishing Israel only option

Amir-Abdollahian made the remarks in a telephone conversation with the United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Monday night.

Although the Islamic Republic of Iran was able to carry out the anti-Israeli operation in a wider scope, it only targeted that part of the military positions of the Zionist regime from where they attacked Iran’s consulate in Damascus, the top Iranian diplomat underlined.

The security of the region is very important to Iran, but the Zionist regime has been carrying out massacre and genocide against defenseless children and women in Gaza for six months, and America and its allies will not stop it, Amir-Abdollahian emphasized.

“When will the international community act to end this genocide and crimes?” he asked.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the Iranian foreign minister said that Tehran welcomes the initiative of the Secretary General of the United Nations in achieving sustainable security in the region.

Guterres, for his part, called for continued restraint from the parties involved in regional conflicts.

Yesterday, I once again condemned any attack on diplomatic places and stressed that diplomatic places should be protected, he added.

We advise Tel Aviv to refrain from committing fresh aggression against the Islamic Republic, Guterres stressed, expressing delight for Iran’s current decision on not taking additional measures against the occupying regime if the Zionists do not commit any fresh aggression against it.

Iran to respond to any fresh Israeli mistake within seconds

Bagheri Kani made the remarks while speaking at a live televised interview on Monday night.

“The Zionists made a strategic mistake in the Damascus crime,” he said, adding that the Zionists’ attack on the Iranian diplomatic annex in Damascus on April 1 provided legitimacy for a serious test of the military and defense capabilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

If the Zionists are rational, they should not repeat this strategic mistake, because if they repeat another mistake, they will receive a harder, faster, and more immediate blow, he added.

“They [Zionists] should know that they will not have a 12-day-long timespace,” the official noted, adding, “The response that they are going to receive [this time around] cannot be measured by [such time standards as] days or hours, but [will come in a matter of] seconds.”

When the Islamic Republic of Iran decided to give a lesson to the Zionists in order to protect its interests and national security, it had a plan for their next mischief as well, the senior Iranian diplomat continued.

He went on to say that the Zionists should know that if their mistake concerning the Iranian consulate warrants such a crushing retaliation, then their likely malign intentions against the Iranian soil would principally entail a much more vehement response.

Iran ready to use weapon never used before

Calling on the Zionists to behave rationally, Abolfazl Amouei in an interview for a media outlet stressed, “We are ready to use a weapon that we have not used so far. We have plans for all scenarios. In this regard, we will behave rationally and courageously.”

Saying that Iran’s response to Israel was legitimate, the senior Iranian lawmaker underlined that Iran does not want tension to flare in the region. “It is Israel’s crimes in Gaza that are destabilizing (the region).”

“Our message is peace and at the same time preparedness,” he added.

Amouei also stressed that the best kind of assistance that the US can provide to Israel, is to stop the regime’s attacks.
