Lane where tech skilling takes centre stage

Hyderabad: It is not just another chaotic lane with perpetual traffic. It is where learning takes centre stage and dreams of thousands of professionals have come true. No matter where you look — be it a multi-story building, an electric pole, or even a chai stall — you will find banners and posters advertising an array of courses. No matter which student you interact with, you will hear them talk for hours about the trends in the job market.

Over the years, Ameerpet in Hyderabad has carved a niche for itself with its multiple coaching centres that teach everything there is to learn in the digital landscape. These classes have benefited so many that students now playfully refer to this lane as their ‘real college’.

“I come from Mahbubnagar and studied BTech in Hyderabad. I graduated during Covid so there were no placements. To get a job, I need command of a domain. I am learning SQL here because my friends recommended doing this course,” shays T Sai Charan, who is in the last leg of his course. Most coaching centres also offer to set up job interviews and clear certification exams after course completion. Many believe this is an added advantage, which attracts students and assures parents.

Although there are still many offline classes, the number of coaching centres offering online lessons has increased post-pandemic. Either way, the compact classrooms and experienced trainers here are the backbones of technical upskilling of the workforce in the city. Some people may have complaints like the trainers are not experienced in the industry or that their English is not polished. But they are experienced in teaching and that is what matters,” says Rama Krishna, a trainer at IT Solutions.

Every few years the courses in demand here change according to the requirements in the professional world. There are also spoken English and personality development classes that continue to rake in students. Noticeably, amid the hustle and bustle, there is a sense of camaraderie that pervades Ameerpet. Hyderabad: Slamming the BJP for failing to fulfill the assurances made to Telangana under AP Reorganisation Act, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said the saffron party does not have the moral right to seek votes in the State.

When massive floods occurred in Hyderabad in the past, BJP State president and union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy did not get a single rupee from the Centre. Despite Bayyaram steel plant, Railway coach factory and national status to Palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation being assured to Telangana not one promise was fulfilled by the BJP government, he said at a public meeting in Tukkuguda here on Saturday.

“How can BJP leaders seek votes in Telangana without sanctioning projects and releasing funds for welfare and development,” the Chief Minister asked.

Stating that the Congress government was striving for the welfare of all sections, the Chief Minister thundered that Vibrant Telangana model would dominate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Gujarat Model in the future.

Reminding that the State government was implementing the guarantees made to the people, he said if Telangana needs to get funds and projects from Centre, then 14 Congress candidates should be elected from the State.

“Our 100 days governance is before you. Analyse our performance and take a decision,” Revanth Reddy said to the gathering.

Calling Congress MP Rahul Gandhi as bhaiyya, he said the ensuing Lok Sabha elections were a fight between two families. Narendra Modi’s family has got EVMs, ED, IT and CBI and Congress family has got former Prime Ministers late Indira Gandhi and late Rajiv Gandhi, Congress Parliamentary party chief Sonia Gandhi and AICC General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi, he said, adding assuring that Telangana people would extend all support to Rajiv Gandhi in the fight.

Targeting the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), he challenged the party to seek votes from people at double bedroom housing complexes and Congress would appeal for votes at Indiramma houses units. “Bear in mind, BRS will not even get deposits in the Lok Sabha elections,” Revanth Reddy said.

He took a serious objection to BRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao’s observations during Suryapet and Karimnagar tours, Revanth Reddy challenged KCR that he was not like Jana Reddy, but he would not take such challenges lying down. “I am Revanth Reddy and I will get a two BHK house constructed in Cherlapally jail for you”, he warned.

Among those who find multiple callings in a lifetime, is popular photojournalist-turned actor Arunangsu Roy Chowdhury, who currently awaits the release of his next film titled ‘Maa Kaali’.

‘Maa Kaali’, a multilingual film starring Raima Sen in dual roles, is directed by Vijay Yelakanti and produced by TG Vishwa Prasad.  The upcoming film promises to deliver a narrative that digs deep into Bengal’s historical saga, shedding light on the challenges faced by its people.

Arunangsu Roy Chowdhury, thorough with the history of Bengal, is donning multiple hats for ‘Maa Kaali’. While he will be seen on screen playing an antagonist, his role behind the scenes as a cultural consultant is equally significant for the film.

“Due to my Bengali roots, I was roped in as the cultural consultant for this project. My contribution toward the project became more weighty when the makers asked me to play a key role in the film,” said the former photojournalist.

Not a single farmer died by suicide in Congress rule: Ministers

Hyderabad: Three senior ministers of the Congress government have argued that not a single farmer ended his life after their party came to power in Telangana and pooh-poohed the Opposition Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) charge that 200 farmers had died by suicide in the first 100 days of Congress rule.

At a joint press conference here on Saturday, three ministers, N Uttam Kumar Reddy (Irrigation), Jupally Krishna Rao (Tourism ) Ponnam Prabhakar (Transport) charged: “it is a blatant lie. Just like during the Telangana movement how people were instigated to commit suicides, the BRS is now inciting farmers to take extreme steps,”

The minister’s press conference was to rebut the statement of BRS Chief K Chandrashekara Rao who said the details of 209 farmers, who died by suicide, were submitted to the Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari.

The BRS chief had inspected the withered crops at Jangoan, Suryapet and other places last week and demanded that the government release water to the fields for saving the standing crops. Subsequently, water was released from the Nagarjunasagar left canal.

However, at the Saturday press conference, Uttam Kumar Reddy said the Congress government was releasing water as per their plan and schedule. Efforts were being made to save maximum crops with minimum water supply. Nagarjunasagar water was released as Palair reservoir was completely dried up and only to ensure drinking water supply to Khammam and Suryapet but not out of BRS chief’s inspections fear, Reddy argued.

He was also very critical of the BRS chief and said people had taught a fitting lesson by defeating the party in the Assembly elections. Of the 39 BRS MLAs, about 20 to 25 MLAs were ready to join the Congress, he said. Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao said it was due to improper administration and poor planning by the BRS government, Telangana was facing drought like situation.

Alleging that there was rampant corruption in Mission Bhagiratha, the Minister said the BRS was getting jittery as the Congress government was fulfilling all promises made to the people. He also found fault with opposition parties for trying to politicize Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s frequent visits to New Delhi. “Not just 12 times, the Chief Minister will visit for 32 times, why are opposition leaders so upset,” Jupally Krishna Rao asked.

Chase Congress leaders out of villages if they seek votes without implementing poll promises: Harish Rao

Former Minister T Harish Rao is participating in Rythu Deeksha in Sangareddy on Saturday.

Sangareddy: Former Minister T Harish Rao has called upon the people to chase away the Congress leaders, who were coming to villages to seek votes in Lok Sabha elections since they had failed to keep any poll promises they made during the assembly elections.

Addressing the gathering during the party cadre meeting in Zaheerabad assembly segment meeting to prepare the workers for the Lok Sabha election on Saturday, the former minister said the Congress government is doing a great injustice to farmers as it denied Rythu Bandhu, loan waiver, Rs 500 bonus on paddy, maize and other crops, irrigation water and many other.

Rao said that the Congress government has pushed the farming sector in the state literally into crisis. Saying that the Congress ministers were criticising former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao as he was exposing the government’s failures by touring agriculture fields, Harish Rao has demanded that the ministers to answer the questions raised by Chandrashekhar Rao rather than just countering him politically.

Since crops on thousands of acres dried up, Rao demanded Rs 25,000 compensation per acre to the farmers whose crops dried up. To further protest the failures of the Congress government, he has asked the Zaheerabad voters to send Gali Anil Kumar to Lok Sabha so that he will become a voice for them in the Parliament and as well as on other platforms. Rao said BRS victory in Lok Sabha elections will also boost them in raising their voice against the government in the assembly.

Harish Rao said that BB Patil, who is contesting on a BJP ticket now, had cheated the BRS though he was given enough opportunities by sending him to Lok Sabha twice. However, the party cadre remained with the BRS only.

Earlier, he participated in “Rythu Deeksha” in Sangareddy to raise the voice for farmers who were being denied by Rs 500 bonus for paddy, and maize. Sangaredd MLA Chintha Prabhakar has also participated in the protest. The BRS MLAs and other key leaders have participated in similar protests across all the assembly constituency headquarters.
