Warangal: A 50-year-old farmer died after being electrocuted while trying to start a borewell motor in Kodtimat Tanda of Khanapur mandal of the district on Monday.
According to reports, the farmer Banoth Chander was trying to start a borewell in his father’s fields and unknowingly came into contact with live wire and died on the spot.
The family members informed the police about the incident who shifted his body to government hospital for postmortem.
The police have registered a case and investigation is underway.
Chandu along with his associates were preparing to commit a dacoity when a police team managed to nab a few of them.

Hyderabad: The Telangana Crime Investigation Department on Monday arrested a man who was allegedly involved in a dacoity case and absconding for last 29 years.
The man Narra Chandu alias Chandraiah, a resident of Vidyanagar in Khanapur mandal of Nirmal district was allegedly involved in a dacoity case that was registered in 1995.
Chandu along with his associates were preparing to commit a dacoity when a police team managed to nab a few of them.
However, Chandu managed to give the police a slip and was since then absconding, said Telangana CID, Additional DG, Shikha Goel.
A special team nabbed Chandu and produced him before the court at Karimnagar. He was sent to judicial remand.

Siddipet: In a disturbing incident, wild boar hunters are suspected to have burnt the carcass of a leopard, which got trapped in a snare laid out for wild boars and died.
The incident, which happened in the Ibrahimpur forest block of Dubbak Forest Range in Siddipet, is said to have occurred about a month ago, but came to light on Sunday. Forest and police officials have taken a suspect into custody. Forest officials collected samples from the site and sent them for forensic analysis.
Speaking to Telangana Today, District Forest Officer K Srinivas said the accused had told a few friends in their locality about them setting the carcass of a leopard on fire. The news spread in the local area and finally reached Forest and police officials, who took one of the suspects into custody. The suspect was taken to the site, where Forest officials found a few bones. The remains have been sent to a forensic lab for confirmation.
The suspect is said to have confessed that they set the carcass on fire fearing that they might land in trouble if the incident came to light. Four persons were said to have been involved in the episode. Officials have launched efforts to nab the remaining three suspects.
They were also informed that any negligence and carelessness in this regard would not be tolerated and would be taken up seriously.

Hyderabad: With more hunting and poaching incidents being reported from different areas in the State, the Forest department has directed its field staff to intensify the vigil to detect traps and snares and to clear them immediately.
Recently, cases of hunting of wild animals were reported in Kanakagiri areas. This apart, a leopard was killed in Siddipet.
Taking serious note of these issues, the Forest department on Monday issued an alert note and instructed District Forest Officers and Circle Heads to ensure immediate action, including arrest of the accused and filing of charge sheets.
All the Circle Heads have been directed to ensure that no hunting or poaching was reported under their jurisdiction.
They were also informed that any negligence and carelessness in this regard would not be tolerated and would be taken up seriously.
Increased incidents of forest fires were prompting wild animals to move to other safe areas, including nearby fringe forest villages, eventually making them more vulnerable to hunting and poaching.
In this context, the field staff was instructed to properly screen the area for detecting any that snares or traps fixed in strategic locations and remove them immediately while entering the deep forest areas for extinguishing fire or for filling artificial water sources.
All the forest fringe villages should be continuously sensitised about the ongoing “Catch the Trap” drive.
The intelligence network, including informers should be utilized on a warfooting and the Circle Head or District Forest Officer should personally manage and monitor this aspect to bring effective results of prevention of poaching, the note said.
The field staff was asked to utilize the funds allotted under Secret Service funds effectively to get the information and further strengthening of intelligence network by concerned DFO.
In all the mandals, adequate awareness and interactions with other departmental officials, including Police, Revenue, Panchayat and Tribal Welfare and Electricity should be conducted by the concerned Forest Range Officers, the note said, adding that regular publicity and awareness events and efforts like tom-tom should be taken up.

Sangareddy: Sangareddy Collector and District Election Officer (DEO) Valluru Kranthi suspended a junior lecturer, G Ravi Kumar Goud, on Monday as he was found to be campaigning for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Medak Lok Sabha constituency.
Goud was working at the Government Junior College in Sadasivapet. Following a complaint from Pandari Nayak and Yellaiah, the DEO inquired into the matter.
She found evidence on social media and in newspapers. Following the Telangana Civil Service rules, Kranthi initiated action against him.

Mancherial: BRS district president Balka Suman said the Congress had failed to keep its poll promises even after four months in office. He along with Peddapalli BRS nominee Koppula Eshwar addressed the media here on Monday.
Suman alleged that funds to the tune of Rs 7,700 crore, deposited by the previous BRS government in banks was illegally transferred to firms owned by ministers Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy.
He demanded the government to extend a bonus of Rs.500 on the minimum support price offered to Yasangi crops.
Suman said the government had failed to support 209 farmers, who died by suicide due to losses in farming caused by erratic power supply while many auto-rickshaw drivers were forced to end their lives after the introduction of the free travel scheme for women.
He also lashed out at the government for not implementing KCR Kits, Kalyana Laxmi and the promised crop loan waiver.
The schemes include the Super Saver Metro Holiday Card, Metro Student Pass, and Super Off Peak Hour Offer, all of which will now continue for the next six months.

The schemes include the Super Saver Metro Holiday Card, Metro Student Pass, and Super Off Peak Hour Offer, all of which will now continue for the next six months.
This decision comes after L&TMRHL recently announced the end of these special offers, effective March 31, including the Super Saver Metro Holiday Card, the Metro Student Pass, and the Super Offer Peak Hour deals.
However, due to significant demand and public outcry, the Hyderabad Metro has decided to resume these offers for an additional six months, providing commuters with continued affordability and convenience.

Kothagudem: RWS principal secretaryprincipal secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania said that the government was giving high priority to drinking water supply in rural areas and towns to ensure sufficient water supply in summer.
He along with the district Collector Dr. Priyanka Ala visited Kummarigudem Mission Bhagiratha intake well in Aswapuram mandal in the district on Monday and inspected Godavari water storage besides Ratham Gutta 40 MLD water treatment plant.
Sultania held a review meeting with Mission Bhagiratha, municipal, irrigation, revenue and panchayat raj officials along with Collector Dr. Ala.
The officials informed him about water availability, water supply and other issues in the district through a powerpoint presentation.
He told the authorities to prepare proper plans for drinking water supply in the district and appreciated Collector Dr. Ala for introducing the new system of water supply through cans in the habitations that do not have road access.
As there was availability of water in the district, it was the responsibility of the authorities to use it in a planned manner; ensure that there would be no problems in drinking water supply and not to waste even a single drop of water.
Later Dr. Ala held a review meeting with the district officials on the progress of drinking water and SDF works and expressed displeasure at the slow pace of the works. She directed officials to complete all the works within a week and submit the photos of the works in the form of a report.
Later in the day Sultania visited Khammam and held a meeting with district Collector VP Gautham, RWS, irrigation and panchayat raj officials.
As water was stored in Palair, Wyra and Dummugudem reservoirs for the next 3 months steps should be taken to ensure drinking water supply to the last village.
If for any reason Mission Bhagiratha water was not supplied local sources should be kept ready as an alternative. All bore wells and hand pumps should be in working condition.
Field visits should be made and remedial measures should be taken immediately wherever there was a problem. The principal secretary and the Collector visited Wyra reservoir intake well and inspected the availability of water. 1.164 TMC water was available in the reservoir and Mission Bhagiratha needs 0.00313 TMC of water daily.
