The case was registered following a complaint by an individual Kishore, who alleged that the Hyderabad Youth Courage office bearers Salman and Ayub raised donations for people affected following the alleged Israel invasion of Gaza.

Hyderabad: The Saidabad police registered a case against a city-based NGO, Hyderabad Youth Courage, for allegedly cheating people after collecting donations for Palestine.

The case was registered following a complaint by an individual Kishore, who alleged that the Hyderabad Youth Courage office bearers Salman and Ayub raised donations for people affected following the alleged Israel invasion of Gaza.


However, Kishore alleged the NGO did not take up any humanitarian work nor provided updates about the expenditure to the donors. The police invoked Section 420 of IPC against them and are investigating.

Previously, the Hyderabad police registered cheating cases against Hyderabad Youth Courage for cheating and misappropriation of public donations raised through crowdfunding. The office bearers Salman and Ayub were detained under PD Act by the Hyderabad police last year.

Hyderabad: Hyderabad has witnessed a surge in leasing activity in the first quarter of 2024. The city’s office market recorded a healthy gross leasing of 2.5 million square feet (msf), marking an impressive 125 per cent growth compared to the same period last year, latest Hyderabad office report by Cushman & Wakefield, said.

The prime submarket of Madhapur emerged as the epicenter of leasing activity, dominating with 89 per cent of quarterly office space leasing.


Among the notable lease transactions, Sattva Knowledge Park Tower 2 in the Suburban area of Madhapur stood out, with Cigna Healthcare securing a fresh lease of 586,160 square feet. Additionally, Lloyds Bank leased 2, 13,166 square feet. Another noteworthy transaction took place at RMZ Nexity Tower 30, also located in Madhapur, where Merilytics leased 168,405 square feet.

Hyderabad’s skyline is all set for transformation with several major projects on the horizon. BSR Tech Park Tower -II in Gachibowli, spanning 1,300,000 square feet, is expected to be completed by Q2 2024. Similarly, Aparna Technopolis in Madhapur, offering 1,700,000 square feet of space, is slated for completion in the same quarter. The Spire Tower 110, also in Madhapur, is scheduled for completion by Q4 2024.

Regarding rental trends, the report noted that weighted average rents in Gachibowli remained stable, while Madhapur saw a slight increase in the first quarter of 2024. Overall, city-wide market rentals witnessed a slight uptick compared to the previous quarter, marking a 4 per cent growth compared to the same period last year.

Looking ahead, approximately 13 msf of new supply is anticipated in Madhapur and Gachibowli combined over the next three quarters, indicating a further increase in vacancy rates, the report further noted.

Two including juvenile held in Hyderabad for stealing motorcycles to perform stunts

The arrested persons Shaik Najamuddin, (19) along with the juvenile had allegedly committed theft of a motorcycle from Begumpet and took it to Shaheen Nagar on city outskirts.

Hyderabad: The Begumpet police apprehended two persons including a juvenile who were stealing two-wheelers to perform stunts, film the act and post videos on social media platforms. The arrested persons Shaik Najamuddin, (19) along with the juvenile had allegedly committed theft of a motorcycle from Begumpet and took it to Shaheen Nagar on city outskirts.

“Najamuddin and the juvenile removed the number plate of the motorcycle and were using it. They were regular performing stunts on the roads and posting videos on social media platforms to garner views. On information, they were caught and the vehicle recovered,” said DCP (North) Rohini Priyadarshini.


The police recovered three motorcycles from them.

Hyderabad: Donuru Ananya Reddy from Mahabubnagar district has come out with flying colours clinching third rank in the Civil Services Examination 2023 results, which were announced by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Tuesday. She achieved this feat in her first attempt itself.

Speaking to Telangana Today, Ananya Reddy said except for coaching for Anthropology optional in Hyderabad she had self prepared for the examination.


“After the interview, I expected to be in the final selection list but not the third rank,” said an elated Ananya Reddy, who graduated with Geography from Miranda House, a constituent college of the Delhi University.

On her preparation, Ananya Reddy said she went with her own strategy and studied about 12 to 14 hours a day before the exam.

“Since my childhood I always wanted to serve the society. So, I took up civil services. In fact, I am first in my family to get into civil services,” said Ananya Reddy, whose father is a self-employed and mother, a homemaker.

A total number of 1016 candidates have been recommended by the UPSC for appointment to Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service and Central Services, Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’.

The candidature of 355 recommended candidates has been kept provisional. Results have been hosted website http//www.upsc.gov.in. Marks will be available on the website within 15 days.

Hyderabad: Panic gripped Nandi Nagar locality of Banjara Hills on Tuesday after some persons found lemons and other material generally used to perform black magic rituals at an open plot located next to the residence of former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

According to sources, local people found lemons, vermillion, turmeric powder, a doll and other items in the plot on Tuesday afternoon. As the news spread the police reached the spot and cordoned off the area.


The clues team reached the spot and took photographs of the scene.

The police are investigating the source of the material.

It is rumored that some people might have performed black magic rituals at the plot the previous night and left behind the articles.

However, the police have so far not confirmed the angle.

Hyderabad: The BJP has named TN Vamshi Tilak as its candidate for the Secunderabad cantonment assembly bypoll.

The BJP Central Election Committee announced the name of Tilak on Tuesday.  The byelection to Cantonment was necessitated by the demise of sitting MLA G Lasya Nanditha of the BRS in a road  accident on Feb 23. The Congress and the BRS have already announced their candidates.

Jagtial: An 18-month-old child, Alifa, died after she was hit by a school van in Maddutla of Mallial mandal on Tuesday.

According to local residents, Alifa along with her mother went to the bus stop to see off her brother in a school van. While playing, she went in front of the school van. She died on the spot when the driver took the vehicle forward without seeing her.


The child’s father Razak is working as an autorickshaw driver. Police have registered a case and are investigating.

Nirmal: A student studying Pre-University Course (PUC) II year at the RGUKT-Basar was found hanging in the hostel on the campus on Tuesday.

The reason for the suspected suicide is yet to be ascertained. This is the second suicide reported in the university in a gap of two months.


Basar police said Buchuka Aravind (17) was found hanging in a room in the hostel. Aravind hailed from Bandarupalli village in Thoguta mandal of Siddipet district. His body was shifted to a government general hospital in Nirmal. Police, who began a probe into the incident, are probing reports that the youngster was depressed after reportedly being given a detention by the university due to low attendance.

On February 22, Tenugu Shirisha (17), a PUC I year student was found hanging in her hostel, while Ramati Praveen Kumar (20) from Nagarkurnool district was found dead in the hostel on November 26.

Hyderabad: The body of Mohammed Abdul Arfath, a 25-year-old student, who was found dead in a lake in Cleveland, US last week after being missing since March 7, has been brought to his residence in Nacharam near Hyderabad late on Monday night.

Abdul Arfath, who was pursuing master’s degree in Information Technology at Cleveland University, Ohio, has not been in touch with the family since March 7 and his family here had received a ransom call.


The Consulate General of India in New York had announced on April 9 that the student was found dead in Cleveland, Ohio.

Body of Hyderabad student found dead in US brought home

AIMIM MLC Mirza Rahmat Baig completed the paperwork and received the body at the Airport. The body was later shifted to Arfath’s residence in Medchal Malkajgiri district near Hyderabad. The last rites will be performed on Tuesday.

AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi had earlier spoken to Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra and also wrote a letter to the Consulate General of India in New York for necessary assistance in finding Abdul Arfath.

Arfath went to the US in May 2023 to pursue a Masters in IT from Cleveland University. His family claims he has not spoken to them since March 7.

Arfath’s father Mohammed Saleem had received a call on March 17 from an unidentified person, who claimed that Arfath had been kidnapped allegedly by a gang selling drugs and demanded USD 1,200 to release him.

The caller threatened to sell Arfath’s kidneys if the ransom wasn’t paid. Saleem had informed his relatives in the US, who filed a missing complaint with the Cleveland police. The police had issued a watch order.

The family wrote to the Indian Consulate in Chicago on March 18 to help trace Arfath.

Arfath had reportedly left his home at Reserve Square on March 5 and had not returned.

The student’s body was found in a lake in Cleveland in a decomposed state on April 8. The body was recovered after police launched an investigation into a bag containing a laptop and ID cards found by a jogger.

Cleveland police are investigating the cause of the death.

Drunk software engineer causes fatal accident in Hitec City, one dead and nine injured


Hyderabad: One person was killed and atleast nine others injured when a software engineer who was in an inebriated state drove his car in a rash manner at Hitec city.

The man Kranthi Kumar (30) a resident of Nizampet took his car on the Hitech city road around midnight. Kranthi Kumar was allegedly  in a drunken condition and first rammed into another car at Hitech city road and without stopping moved around for half an hour.


“When he reached Botanical Garden road Kranthi Kumar hit a pedestrian who later died in the hospital. Nine other people were injured in different accidents caused by him,” said the Raidurgam police.

Three motorcycles, a car and an auto rickshaw were damaged in the incidents.

The injured persons were treated at different hospitals.

The police who caught Kranthi Kumar conducted a breathe analyser test and his BAC reading was recorded at 550.

A case is registered against him.
