German CEO Rudo Grimm urges India to promote trail running to keep youngsters off screens

Rudo Grimm, a 57-year-old German CEO who participated in Mancherial’s maiden forest marathon, called for more trail-running events in India. He said such initiatives could encourage youngsters to spend less time on screens and explore parks and natural landscapes.

German CEO Rudo Grimm urges India to promote trail running to keep youngsters off screens

Mancherial: Rudo Grimm, a Chief Executive Officer of a firm from Düsseldorf in Germany, who stole the show at the maiden marathon hosted by the forest department here on Sunday, opined that there was a need to promote trail running events in India to make youngsters stay away from screens.

The 57-year-old fitness freak said that he would like to find a sprinting event in India whenever he visits the country on business trips. He remarked that running events should be organized on a large scale in this country to divert youngsters from mobile phones and computers. Like in Germany, youngsters in India tend to stay indoors. They should explore parks and nature endowed by the country.


Grimm further opined that the sprinting culture in India was gradually gaining momentum. He maintained that foreigners were being received with love and care here. He claimed that he had already participated in sprinting events organized in Pune of Maharashtra, Belgium, Switzerland and Japan in recent years. He shared that he was going to take part in an event in China soon.

He said that he loved the landscape of the district and the elevations and hillocks were scenic. He recalled that he ventured into running at 40 years. He added that he was aiming to make running popular. He revealed that he developed a website to encourage people in India. He disclosed that running slowly was his formula to shine in sprinting events. He came to know about the event through social media platforms.
