Hyderabad: A 31-year-old woman from Mahabubabad district died in a road accident in Missouri in the United States on Saturday night.
Daram Supriya, a native of Maripeda mandal in Mahabubabad district, had been running a restaurant in St. Louis and was reportedly returning home after closing the establishment when the accident occurred around 2.20 a.m. on Sunday (Indian time).
According to information available to her family, Supriya and a friend were travelling in a car when a truck rammed their vehicle from behind. Supriya died on the spot in the impact. Her friend, a woman from Kodad, suffered serious injuries and was shifted to a hospital for treatment.
Supriya had married Ranjith, also from Mahabubabad, about five years ago. Ranjith is employed in the software sector. The couple has a two-and-a-half-year-old son. Her mother, who is originally from Maripeda, is currently residing in Khammam, while her mother-in-law lives in Mahabubabad.
Family members are making arrangements following the accident and are awaiting further information from authorities in the US.
