Hyderabad: More than 2,700 unauthorised under-construction properties have been identified within Cyberabad civic body limits, said CMC Commissioner G Srijana during a media interaction here on Saturday.
The identification follows an enforcement drive that has continued after an illegal seven-storey building collapsed in Anjaiah Nagar, Gachibowli, killing two workers.
“Every unauthorised building under construction has been mapped using geographic coordinates. Enforcement teams will be directed to demolish the structures and monitor the properties afterwards to prevent builders from rebuilding them,” Srijana said. More than 398 unauthorised structures under construction have been demolished across CMC limits so far.
A tracking system would be introduced and strict building norms prescribed under the new Core Urban Region Economy (CURE) Bill 2026 would be enforced to prevent unauthorised construction, she said.
