Kothagudem: A 27-year-old software engineer died in a road accident on the main road at Vidyanagar Colony in Kothagudem on Friday.
The deceased, R Satyanarayana of Vepalagadda, was working as a software engineer with Wipro in Hyderabad and had come home under a work-from-home arrangement. On Thursday night, he visited Kothagudem for work-related reasons and was returning home around midnight.
According to the police, Satyanarayana was riding his two-wheeler near the Hanuman Temple in the colony when a dog suddenly appeared in his path. In an attempt to avoid hitting the animal, he crashed into a road divider and fell, sustaining severe head injuries.
Locals rushed him to a private hospital for first aid and later shifted him to the Government General Hospital. He died while undergoing treatment on Friday morning.
Based on a complaint from his family members, police registered a case and launched an investigation, SI Ravikumar said.
