Kothagudem: A python that strayed into Srinivasa Nagar Colony near a hillock at Paloncha in the district was rescued on Wednesday.
The massive python, measuring approximately 12 feet in length, was spotted near the colony on Wednesday. Acting on information from the locals, the forest officials alerted the Kothagudem snake rescue team, which captured the reptile.
Officials said the captured python would be safely released into the forest. Locals gathered in large numbers to catch a glimpse of the snake, while colony residents breathed a sigh of relief after it was rescued.
