A 55-year-old man allegedly died by suicide in Sangareddy hours after his wife was arrested for the alleged murder of a 70-year-old woman for gain. Police said the woman was killed on September 23 and her ornaments were stolen.

Sangareddy: Hours after the police arrested his wife on charges of a murder for gain, her husband committed suicide by consuming pesticide at Peddareddipet in Pulkal mandal on Tuesday evening. \
Some unidentified miscreants killed an elderly woman Kothakadi Pochamma (70) on September 23 night. Her killers decamped with the gold and silver ornaments she was wearing. During the investigation, the police found Patnamma Narsamma (49), who is living in deceased’s neighbourhood, as the accused.
The police, who arrested Narsamma, produced her before the court on Tuesday evening. The court sent her to remand.
After the news broke, her husband Patnam Yadaiah (55), who reportedly felt humiliated, consumed pesticide on the same day evening. He was found dead hours later by his family members. The incident created a sensation in the otherwise calm Peddareddipet village. The police registered separate cases.
