Hyderabad: The Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) concluded its destination wedding roadshow in Hyderabad showcasing tropical beaches, resorts, heritage sites and intimate venues that offer possibilities for destination weddings where couples can exchange vows overlooking the Indian Ocean.
The roadshow highlighted the appeal of the “wedding plus holiday” concept. Visitors were able to combine celebrations with beach escapes, cultural excursions, wildlife safaris, wellness experiences, scenic journeys, shopping and culinary discovery.
Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau Deputy Managing Director, Chamila Jayarathne said India continues to be an important market for Sri Lanka, and destination weddings offer an opportunity to deepen the relationship. “Indian families are looking for beautiful settings, hospitality, memorable experiences and ease of travel. Sri Lanka brings these strengths together, and this roadshow allowed us to take that proposition directly to the professionals shaping wedding decisions,” he added.
During the event, “The Heritage of Kandyan”, a presentation celebrating Sri Lanka’s rich dance traditions, was performed.
