A Tirumalayapalem Sub-Inspector and his driver sustained serious injuries after a speeding lorry rammed their car near Pindiprolu village in Khammam district while they were returning from Ganesh immersion duty.

Khammam: Tirumalayapalem Sub-Inspector of Police, Kuchipudi Jagadish and driver Kothapalli Rakesh were seriously injured in a road accident in Tirumalayapalem mandal in the district on Thursday.
The incident occurred when the SI was returning to the police station in a car after finishing his Ganesh immersion duties during the early hours of the day and was about to reach the destination in a couple of minutes.
A speeding lorry going towards Maripeda bungalow from Khammam hit the car in which the SI was travelling in, on the outskirts of Pindiprolu village. The car was badly damaged and fell into a cotton field by the side of the road after it was hit by the truck.
The injured were shifted to a private hospital in Khammam by ambulance for treatment. Upon learning of the matter, Khammam CP (Commissioner of Police) Sunil Dutt went to the hospital; spoke to the doctors and requested them to provide best possible treatment to the injured.
