Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad, has issued a red alert warning for multiple districts in Telangana, forecasting very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall, potentially exceeding 204.5 mm of rainfall, between Wednesday, September 23, and Friday, September 25.
The red alert specifically covers the districts of Komuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Warangal, and Hanamkonda.
In addition to the red warning, the IMD has issued an orange alert indicating heavy to very heavy rainfall (ranging between 64.4 mm and 204.5 mm) across several regions from Tuesday, September 22, to September 27.
Districts placed under the orange alert, facing a possible heavy thundershowers and squally winds reaching speeds of 50 to 60 kmph, include Adilabad, Komuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sirisilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon, and Siddipet.
Meanwhile, Hyderabad and its surrounding districts, including Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Rangareddy, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, and Kamareddy, have received a heavy rainfall warning (64.5 mm to 115.5 mm) from September 22 to September 26.
