Secunderabad Railway Police and the RPF arrested two Duronto Express bedroll attendants for allegedly stealing a passenger’s gold chain. Police said the suspects planned to steal valuables, with a 22-gram gold black-bead chain and diamond pendant recovered from them.

Hyderabad: The Secunderabad Railway Police, along with the Railway Protection Force (RPF), on Monday arrested two bedroll attendants of the Duronto Express on Monday for allegedly stealing a gold chain belonging to a passenger.
The arrested suspects were identified as Rahul Kumar (31), a native of Gaya district, and Suresh Paswan (44), from Aurangabad district in Bihar.
According to SN Jaweed, DSP, Government Railway Police, Rahul joined the agency in July 2026 and subsequently became acquainted with Suresh. The duo allegedly planned to steal valuables from train passengers to earn easy money. On September 15, both were on duty aboard the Duronto Express, with Rahul assigned to coach B-10.
The next day, when the train arrived at Secunderabad Railway Station, Rahul allegedly found a gold black-bead chain with a diamond pendant while collecting blankets from passengers. He showed the ornament to Suresh, who allegedly suggested selling it after their duty shift and took possession of the chain.
During the investigation, the police apprehended both suspects and questioned them. The duo allegedly confessed to the offence, following which the police recovered a 22-gram gold black-bead chain with a diamond pendant, valued at approximately Rs 1.50 lakh, from their possession.
