The Islamic Republic of Iran’s Army Public Relations Department issued a statement announcing that “at 18:30 today, an advanced Orbiter reconnaissance drone was struck and destroyed over the Strait of Hormuz by the fire of indigenous systems belonging to the Army Air Defense Force.”
“The operation was conducted in the country’s southeastern region within the framework of the national integrated air defense network,” the army statement added.
