Several Congress MLAs raised concerns in the Telangana Assembly over damaged roads, power outages and inadequate drinking water supply. Legislators from Manakondur, Jadcherla, Tandur and Achampet highlighted constituency-level problems, including shortcomings in Mission Bhagiratha water supply

Hyderabad: Congress MLA from Manakondur K Satyanarayana has complained about damaged roads in his constituency, while Jadcherla MLA Anirudh Reddy has expressed concern over power outages.
A few other Congress MLAs also raised concerns over drinking water supply, particularly issues linked to Mission Bhagiratha. The complaints were made in the Assembly, in contrast to the Congress government’s claims regarding power and water supply to different sectors.
In Tandur constituency, people are facing hardships due to inadequate water supply. This was disclosed by Congress MLA B Manohar Reddy in the Assembly last week.
Apart from borewells drying up, inadequate supply through Mission Bhagiratha has added to the problems, with people in several villages facing severe hardships.
“In Tandur town, about 14 MLD of water had to be supplied, but not even 10 MLD is being supplied. The same situation is prevailing in every village. Our constituency borders Karnataka and, at times, water is supplied once in three to four days through Mission Bhagiratha,” Manohar Reddy said.
Similarly, a few other MLAs complained that the Mission Bhagiratha scheme, which was launched by the previous government, was not functioning properly.
Congress MLA from Achampet C Vamshi Krishna said the Mission Bhagiratha scheme was not functioning properly in Nagarkurnool district. Referring to his constituency, he said people were facing drinking water problems even during the rainy season.
“The government should initiate measures to address drinking water issues in all villages,” Vamshi Krishna said.
