Aneeksha,Arun Kumar, emerge AITA U-14 champions

D. Arun Kumar of Kerala and Telangana’s G. Aneeksha won the boys’ and girls’ singles titles respectively at the AITA National Series U-14 tennis tournament at the Sania Mirza Tennis Academy. Arun also completed a double by winning the boys’ doubles title

Hyderabad: D. Arun Kumar of Kerala and G. Aneeksha of Telangana won the boys’ and girls’ singles titles respectively in the AITA National Series (under-14) tennis tournament at the Sania Mirza Tennis Academy here on Saturday.

Arun Kumar defeated Telangana’s Aarush Kumar 5-7, 6-4, 6-2 in the boys’ final and completed a double by winning the doubles title in partnership with Vishnu Pandey of Maharashtra.

Aneeksha defeated Shaik Myra of Maharashtra 4-6, 7-5, 3-0 (conceded) in the girls’ final.

Doubles: Vishnu Pandey (Maha) & D. Arun Kumar (Ker) bt Nihal S Reddy (Kar) & Rabeeb Ali Khan (Dli) 6-4, 2-6, 18-16.

Girls
Singles: G. Aneeksha (TG) bt Shaik Myra (Maha) 4-6, 7-5, 3-0 (conceded).

Doubles: Balajee Vaishnavi (TN) & Govind Kanishka (TN) bt C. Vara Anuha (TG) & G. Aneeksha (TG) 6-2, 7-6 (5).
