Congress MPs demand ED probe into Harish Rao’s irregularities

Siddipet: Congress MPs and other leaders who inspected Ranganayaka Sagar reservoir on Friday demanded an Enforcement Directorate (ED) probe into alleged irregularities involving former minister T Harish Rao.

Speaking to reporters after inspecting the reservoir, Bhongir MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy alleged that Harish Rao had misused his position to build a farmhouse close to Ranganayaka Sagar.

He further alleged that the project alignment was substantially changed to benefit Rao. The MP also alleged that land acquired by the Irrigation department was later transferred to the Siddipet Urban Development Authority (SUDA), which developed a park on it, and that Harish Rao subsequently built a farmhouse close to the park.

The Congress MP said they had doubts over the purchase of two acres of land by Harish Rao for Rs 4 lakh, despite the market value being much higher at the time.
