Hyderabad: The State government is facing criticism after MLC Addanki Dayakar was made to sit in the second row while Congress leaders occupied seats in the first row at the Praja Palana Dinotsavam celebrations here on Thursday.
The celebrations were held at Public Gardens, where Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy addressed the gathering.
However, while MLC Addanki Dayakar was seated in the second row, TMREIS Vice-Chairman Faheem Qureshi and Congress party Amberpet incharge C Rohin Reddy occupied seats in the front row along with other senior leaders in a gallery.
Images and videos of the MLC being seated in the back row are being shared on social media. The development drew criticism from the BRS, which questioned the Congress government’s commitment towards the Dalit community.
Taking to X, BRS spokesperson Manne Krishank said, “Mr. England Qureshi and Manager Rohin Reddy get first seat in official programme. While dalit leader Addanki Dayakar, who is a Whip and MLC pushed to second row.”
