Siddipet: Siddipet police arrested seven BRS leaders of Varadarajpur village in Markook mandal on the charge of spraying turmeric water on Congress leaders who were proceeding towards former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s residence last Tuesday.

When the Congress leaders had arrived to lay siege to Rao’s residence, the BRS leaders reportedly poured turmeric water on the vehicle in which the Congress leaders were travelling. Following objections from Congress Dalit leaders, the State government asked the police to probe the allegations.

During the investigation, the police took them into custody in Vijayawada on Sunday night. They were produced before a court, which sent them to 15-day remand.
