BRS MLC Tata Madhu denied making abusive remarks against the Speaker during Monday’s confrontation at the Assembly gate. He alleged that police personnel assaulted him and other BRS legislators and demanded action against those responsible for the alleged attack.

Hyderabad: BRS MLC Tata Madhu categorically denied making abusive remarks against the Speaker during the confrontation involving BRS legislators at the Assembly gate on Monday. He asserted that his remarks were not directed at the Speaker, but were being twisted to suit the political narrative of the ruling Congress.
“If any of my remarks are perceived as being directed at the Speaker, I withdraw them and express regret,” he said. He also demanded appropriate action against the police personnel responsible, urging the government not to divert attention from the alleged assault by attributing statements to him.
Addressing the media at Telangana Bhavan, Madhu said he had immense respect for the Speaker and had not made any comments targeting him. He stated that he was attacked by police during the incident. He stated that the police personnel punched him in the abdomen, tried to pull down his trousers and attempted to choke him, apart from abusing him in objectionable language.
“I had only spoken out in distress, questioning who had attacked us and who had ordered the action, but they were in no way directed at the Speaker,” he reiterated.
The BRS MLC strongly condemned the police action against BRS MLAs and MLCs who were peacefully trying to enter the Assembly. He alleged that women legislators were subjected to particularly unacceptable treatment, with male police personnel pulling their sarees, holding their hair and pressing their throats.
Madhu also alleged that senior BRS leaders, including Yadav Reddy, Jagadish Reddy, Harish Rao, KT Rama Rao and Dr Sanjay, were attacked and dragged away by police. He demanded that Chief Minister and Home Minister A Revanth Reddy apologise for the alleged attack on BRS legislators, particularly the women members.
