Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian met and held talks with Yvan Gil Pinto, Minister of the People’s Power for Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 55th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva.
Referring to the various opportunities for Iran-Venezuela cooperation, the Iranian Foreign Minister said, “The energy field is one of the good fields for cooperation between the two countries and the Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes the strengthening of cooperation between the various economic and commercial sectors of the two countries.”
He condemned Americans’ interference in Venezuela’s internal affairs, especially in issues related to the country’s elections.
He also said that Iran supports the right of the Venezuelan people to decide for their country without foreign interference.
The Venezuelan Foreign Minister also expressed satisfaction with the progress of bilateral relations and emphasized his country’s readiness to advance relations based on the 20-year cooperation document and the full implementation of cooperation documents.
He also expressed his satisfaction with the Iran-Venezuela cooperation in international fields and said, “We are ready to strengthen this cooperation.”
He also pointed out the common position of the two countries regarding Palestine and emphasized the strong position of his country on the need to immediately stop the war against the Palestinians.
