The commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Joint Air Defense Headquarters says Iran has presented the world with a new understanding of national power during the recent wars of aggression against the country.
Brigadier General Alireza Elhami made the remarks on Friday, marking the anniversary of the establishment of the Khatam al-Anbiya Air Defense Headquarters and the Islamic Republic of Iran Army’s Air Defense Force.
“Today, through what it has demonstrated in recent wars, Iran has offered the world a new definition of national power—one that represents an intelligent and courageous redefinition of the sacred Islamic Republic establishment,” he said.
Elhami also noted that Iranians’ national and social cohesion has pushed back the enemy and made it regret its illegal wars.
He further said that Iranian Armed Forces—particularly in the air defense forces—have procured, developed, and expanded their equipment based on indigenous knowledge and self-reliant capabilities without dependence on foreign countries.
Meanwhile, the commander emphasized that Iran’s Army Air Defense Force, relying on young scientists, as well as knowledge-based companies and advanced universities, and drawing on the valuable experience gained by the Armed Forces on the battlefield, remains self-sufficient in supplying the equipment and weapons it needs.
“During the recent wars, the air defense forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Army and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) developed and manufactured air defense systems, deployed them in the field, and put them into operation, successfully destroying aircraft belonging to the hostile enemy,” he added.
Additionally, Elhami stressed that the enemy’s possession of advanced technology and aircraft has failed to provide it with immunity and guarantee its safe return from the battlefield.
“The confrontation between the front of truth and the front of falsehood will continue, and … we have prepared ourselves for any kind of confrontation, both today and in the future,” stressed the commander.
“Today, we know that the enemy’s threats have not ended, and that the enemy may be pursuing its sinister objectives on other fronts,” he said, adding, “But their objectives will once again be thwarted through the vigilance and profound insight of the great Iranian nation.”
The US and the Israeli regime waged their first criminal war against Iran, which lasted 12 days, in June 2025. Their second aggression began on February 28, 2026, and came to a halt in early April after 40 days.
In both wars, Iran’s brave resistance and successful retaliatory operations forced the aggressors to accept a ceasefire.
In July, however, the US conducted waves of deadly air raids on Iran and imposed a naval blockade of the country in violation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Islamic Republic, signed on June 17, to end the war.
In response, Iranian armed forces launched devastating attacks against strategic American targets across West Asia and declared the Strait of Hormuz closed to all traffic.
