Former minister T Harish Rao accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of placing poor farmers’ lands in the 22A prohibited list, depriving them of benefits. He demanded immediate lifting of the restrictions and announced intensified BRS protests over the issue.

Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Former finance minister T Harish Rao alleged that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy snatched food from the mouth of the poor by placing their lands in the list of prohibited lands. He was speaking at a protest staged by the BRS against the inclusion of lands in the 22A prohibited list and for failing to implement six poll gurantees in Koutala mandal centre on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, Harish Rao said that the agricultural lands, house sites and assets of the poor were included in the prohibited lands. He cited that 42,867 acres of land were put on the prohibited list in Sirpur (T) constituency alone. While former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao gave the lands to the poor, Revanth Reddy grabbed the lands from the underprivileged.
Harish Rao further said that farmers were unable to get crop loans, Raithu Bandhu and other benefits after the Chief Minister kept their lands in the prohibited properties. Revanth Reddy is playing with the lives of farmers. He is continuing his rule with lands as the focal point. About 15 lakh acres of lands have been placed in the 22A prohibited list.
The former minister accused Revanth Reddy of always trying to occupy someone’s land instead of effectively implementing welfare schemes and providing lands to the poor. He demanded that the Chief Minister tender an apology for terming farmers as encroachers. He predicted that electors would teach a lesson to the Congress in forthcoming elections.e charged that the leaders hatched a conspiracy to share properties of the public by bringing in the list. He announced that the BRS would lay siege to the Legislative Assembly and the house of the Chief Minister with lakhs of people soon. He demanded that the government immediately lift the prohibition.
Harish Rao wondered whether snatching lands of the poor was Indiramma’s rule. He promised that the BRS would continue to fight until the poor get justice. He alleged that contractors were not filing tenders to take up developmental works fearing that they would have to give 15 percent of commission to Revanth Reddy, deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and his wife each.
