Mancherial: 95-year-old man mauled to death by stray dogs in Dandepalli

A 95-year-old man was mauled to death by a pack of four stray dogs at Dandepalli in Mancherial district on Thursday. The incident triggered panic among locals, who urged officials to take measures to curb the stray dog menace.

Mancherial: In a heart-wrenching incident, a 95-years lone man was mauled to death by stray dogs at Dandepalli on Thursday, triggering panic among locals.

Locals and police said that Oruganti Poshsm sustained serious injuries after a pack of four dogs attacked him when he was alone, resulting in spot death for him. He suffered profuse bleeding and died on the spot. None of his caregivers were not present when the incident happened.


Posham was bed-ridden after he was diagnosed with multiple age-related ailments for quite a long time. He was staying alone ever since his wife died long back. His son migrated to Karimnagar in search of livelihood. He was looked after by his brother’s family who reside slightly away from his home.

Meanwhile, locals expressed concern over the stray dog menace. They said that the stray dogs, moving in the streets, were attacking people at regular intervals. They urged the officials to take steps to address the challenge and to prevent attacks.
