Five SCCL miners sustained minor injuries after an air tanker exploded at the Adriyala Longwall Project in Godavarikhani, with two losing hearing ability.

Five SCCL miners injured in Adriyala Longwall blast

Peddapalli: Five coal miners reportedly sustained injuries after an air tanker exploded inside a SCCL Adriyala Longwall project at Godavarikhani under Ramagundam Area late on Wednesday night.

The SCCL officials said that the miners received minor injuries after the tanker exploded. Two of them reportedly lost their hearing ability due to the impact of the blast. The injured miners were shifted to an Area hospital of the coal major in Godavarikhani. The exact cause of the mishap is under investigation.


Meanwhile, coal miners expressed concern over their safety at workplaces. They regretted that the SCCL management was showing negligence in taking adequate safety measures to prevent similar instances in future. They urged the officials to give paramount importance to the safety of miners who risk their lives in coal excavation.
