Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) has announced the Under-23 Men’s Emerging Players 4-Day Tournament 2026–27, to be held in the second week of September. The tournament aims to provide a competitive platform for promising Under-23 cricketers and identify players with the potential to progress to higher levels of the game.
A total of three Emerging Players teams, comprising 13 players each, will be selected by the Senior Selection Committee.
The squads will be selected from eligible Under-23 players participating in the A-Division and B-Division two-day and multi-day league matches during the ongoing 2026–27 season. Selection will be based on players’ performances, consistency, potential and overall contribution during the league matches.
Players who are currently part of the Senior Men’s Super League or the Under-19 selection matches will not be considered for the Emerging Players teams.
The Senior Selection Committee has been asked to compile and submit the final lists for all three Emerging Players teams, comprising 13 players each, by September 2, 2026.
The tournament will be conducted in a four-day match format on a round-robin basis, with all three teams playing against each other. Accordingly, the tournament will comprise three matches, ensuring that each team gets an opportunity to play the other two teams.
The Super Sub rule will also be applicable during the tournament, with the objective of providing opportunities to a larger pool of deserving players and enabling more young cricketers to showcase their abilities in a competitive multi-day format.
