Adilabad: A notorious vehicle lifter, who stole two-wheelers in both Adilabad and Nirmal districts, was finally nabbed. Police seized 12 motorcycles worth Rs 4 lakh from him, here on Saturday.
SP Akhil Mahajan said that Chouhan Shravan Kumar alias Ramesh from Kota (B) village was apprehended while moving suspiciously during a vehicle check in the town.
During interrogations, Shravan confessed to committing the crime to lead a lavish lifestyle by making a fast buck through shortcut means. He admitted to selling the stolen bikes to 12 persons from different parts of Adilabad district. He disclosed that he was targeting bikes parked in front of RIMS-Adilabad and other government hospitals in Nirmal district.
Meanwhile, a dozen persons were booked for allegedly purchasing vehicles from Shravan Kumar. The accused persons were Shaik Sai, Matta Chandar Singh, Chouhan Praveen, Pawar Ravi, Bodasu Srinivas, Shivaratri Naresh, Deshmukh Baban, Chouhan Dinesh, Chouhan Mohan Singh, Katakwar Ram, Shaik Afan and Bodasu Venu.
