New Delhi: Delhi Traffic Police issued 92 challans for drunken driving during a special enforcement drive conducted across the Northern Range, an official said on Sunday.
The operation was conducted on Saturday on the directions of DCP Traffic, Northern Range, Sachin Kumar Singhal, aiming to reduce drunk driving and enhance road safety.
“Traffic police teams adopted a strict enforcement approach against motorists found driving under the influence of alcohol during the drive,” a senior police officer said.
A total of 92 challans were issued to motorists for drunken driving across the Northern Range, he said.
The enforcement drive was aimed at preventing road accidents linked to driving under the influence of alcohol and ensuring safer roads for motorists, pedestrians and other road users, the officer added.
Police said such drives would continue at regular intervals, particularly during vulnerable hours, to deter traffic violations and encourage responsible driving behaviour.
