A Ranga Reddy court sentenced a 29-year-old man to life imprisonment for murdering a woman in Narsingi in 2021. Police said CCTV footage and call data records helped establish his movements before the woman was killed and her belongings stolen.

Man sentenced to life imprisonment for Narsingi woman’s murder

Hyderabad: A 29-year-old man was sentenced to life imprisonment by a court in Ranga Reddy for the murder of a woman in Narsingi in 2021. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on him.

According to the police, Meedinti Suvarna, who worked as a housekeeping employee at Vishal Mart, went missing on September 4, 2021. Her mother, Manamma, made a complaint the following day after she failed to return home. Suvarna’s body was later found at Vidyut Valley Layout with injuries and her belongings missing.


The police, during investigation, found that Raju, who was known to Suvarna, had travelled with her on a motorcycle to the crime scene. Police said he killed her following an argument by throttling and assaulting her before stealing her gold ornaments and mobile phone. The police, with the help of CCTV footage and call data records, established his movements.

Raju was arrested on September 22, 2021, and a charge sheet was filed after investigation. After the trial, the court convicted him and announced the jail sentence.
