HYDRAA resumed demolition of a damaged seven-storeyed apartment in Gachibowli’s Anjaiah Nagar on Monday. The structure was partially damaged after an illegal apartment collapsed on it. A high-reach ‘Bahubali’ machine was deployed, while rain hampered demolition operations.

Hyderabad: The DRF teams of Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (Hydraa) began demolition activity at Anjaiah Nagar in Gachibowli on Monday, after a few hours of pause.
Hydraa and CMC officials took a decision after a joint inspection of the adjacent apartments. They noticed another seven-storeyed apartment had also been impacted and partially damaged after an illegal apartment collapsed on it, and decided to demolish it on Sunday itself.
However, keeping in view the poor night visibility and the disturbance to residents of neighbouring apartments, the demolition was postponed to Monday.
Hydraa deployed a high-reach hydraulic machine ‘Bahubali, to demolish the high-rise structure in an effort to avoid damage to adjacent structures.

The heavy-duty, advanced machinery, popularly nicknamed the ‘Bahubali machine, was used by Hydraa in several times during the demolition of high-rise structures.
But rain which was continued on Monday, hampered demolition of the structure.
In an official statement, the Hydraa stated to avoid disturbing the sleep of residents in the Anjaiah Nagar surrounding areas, the Hydra halted demolition work during the night. The operations resumed under the joint supervision of CMC and Hydraa on Monday.
Demolition activities were back underway using the ‘Bahubali’ high-reach machine, it added.
