Vijay Antony’s daughter Meera was found dead at her residence in Chennai’s Teynampet
Chennai:
The daughter of famous actor and music director Vijay Antony allegedly died by suicide on Tuesday. Meera, 16, was found dead at her residence in Chennai’s Teynampet early Tuesday.
She was reportedly taken to a hospital in Mylapore but was declared dead by doctors.
“The child was rushed to a private hospital at Mylapore early this morning. Doctors declared brought dead. It appears the child killed herself,” a senior police officer told NDTV.
“Investigation is underway and we can’t say anything now.” another police officer said.
Meera was one of actor Vijay Antony and his wife Fathima’s two daughters.
She was a Class 12th student and was battling stress, according to reports. She studied at a private school in Chennai.
Her body has now been sent for post-mortem and further investigation is underway.
Tamil actors, directors condole Vijay Antony’s daughter’s death
Several Tamil actors and directors expressed grief over Vijay Antony’s daughter’s death.
“Woke up to this shocking news! Deepest condolences Vijay Antony Saar and family. RIP Meera,” director Venkat Prabhu said in a post on X.
Veteran actor R Sarathkumar also took to his official X account and said that the news of the “untimely and unfortunate” demise of the daughter of Vijay Antony and Fatima is “shocking beyond imaginations.”
“No amount of consoling and condolences can replace the everlasting grief of Vijay Antony and Fatima,” he added.
