Mahabubnagar: Congress MLA from Jadcherla J Anirudh Reddy has backed Munugode MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy, who alleged rampant corruption in the Congress government. Anirudh Reddy said Rajgopal Reddy had spoken in the better interest of the party.
“I did not see anything wrong in his comments. He is aspiring for the party’s welfare. Rajgopal Reddy is like a volcano,” Anirudh Reddy said after hoisting the national flag on Saturday. Anirudh Reddy said it had been two and a half years and Rajgopal Reddy had never demanded a Cabinet berth. He said the Munugode MLA had been fighting on behalf of the people and raising their issues. There was nothing wrong with that, he said.
“I too have raised public issues. There are issues and if they are addressed, our party will get a good name. Rajgopal Reddy spoke in the better interest of the Congress party,” Anirudh Reddy said in his defence of the Munugode MLA.
Interestingly, TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud had found fault with Rajgopal Reddy for discussing party and government issues in public. However, support for the Munugode MLA is now growing within the Congress.
BRS working president KT Rama Rao had also backed Rajgopal Reddy’s comments on growing corruption in the Congress government. He wanted Congress MP Rahul Gandhi to act on the issues raised by the Congress legislators.
