Telangana has secured the top rank in India for cybercrime performance in a nationwide PMO review. The State was recognised for its implementation of key I4C initiatives, including e-Zero FIR, S4C, cybercrime portals, public awareness and grievance redressal mechanisms.

Hyderabad: Telangana has been ranked first in the country for its overall performance in tackling cybercrime during a nationwide PRAGATI review conducted by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on Thursday.
The assessment evaluated States and Union Territories on the implementation and effective use of key cybercrime initiatives and digital platforms developed by the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
According to officials, the State secured the top position based on its performance across nine key parameters, including the establishment of the State Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (S4C), implementation of e-Zero FIR, use of the Grievance Redressal Mechanism (GRM), Money Restoration Module (MRM), Sahyog Portal, Samanvaya Portal, cybercrime hotspot management, capacity building of law enforcement personnel and public awareness initiatives.
Telangana was specifically commended for setting up the country’s first S4C, implementing e-Zero FIR and effectively utilising the I4C platforms.
To improve citizen services, the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) has introduced a dedicated helpline (8712665600) to assist people with grievances related to the GRM and MRM portals. It has also released instructional videos on its official social media platforms to help citizens use these services.
According to the TGCSB, the State’s GRM portal has processed 2,086 of 2,368 grievance requests, achieving an 88 per cent action rate. Through the Money Restoration Module, authorities have issued law enforcement orders in more than 28,000 cases involving Rs 16.42 crore in recoverable funds. The Sahyog Portal recorded an 89.41 per cent content removal rate, while the Samanvaya Portal reported completion rates of 96.68 per cent for requests received from other States and 79.22 per cent for requests sent by Telangana.
TGCSB Director and Principal Secretary (Home) Shikha Goel, IPS, who attended the PMO review meeting through video conference, said Telangana’s top ranking reflects the State’s sustained efforts to strengthen cybercrime prevention, investigation and citizen-centric digital services.
