Hyderabad: A local court on Wednesday granted the Attapur police two days’ custody of trainee IPS officer M Uday Krishna Reddy for investigation.
The police had arrested Uday last week after a woman trainee IPS officer lodged a complaint against him, alleging that he attempted to kill her, sexually assaulted her and blackmailed her.
The police arrested and remanded him in the case. They later filed a petition seeking Uday’s custody for further investigation. The court granted the police two days’ custody of him.
The police had earlier recorded the victim’s statement. The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy authorities had placed Uday under suspension after the case was registered against him.
