HYDERABAD: A reporter working for a vernacular news channel was injured after a mob allegedly attacked him at Shamshabad on Wednesday afternoon.
Masood Khan, who works for a Telugu news channel, went to cover an incident involving an attack on a welding workshop. On noticing Masood filming the incident, some persons allegedly attacked him with sticks, leaving him injured. His mobile phone was damaged, and another phone was allegedly stolen.
According to the police, the incident stemmed from a minor altercation between some persons who had visited the welding workshop for work. An argument reportedly broke out between the workers and the customers.
On receiving information about the violence, Masood Khan reached the spot to cover the incident, where he was surrounded and attacked by a group of persons.
