An unidentified man died after being electrocuted near a roadside sugarcane juice shop in Hyderabad’s Balanagar. Police said an electrical leakage from the shop caused the accident. Efforts are under way to identify the deceased and investigate the incident.

Hyderabad: An unidentified man was electrocuted after reportedly coming into contact with damaged electrical wiring near a roadside sugarcane juice shop at Balanagar during rain on Monday night.
The victim, believed to be around 30 years old, was found dead at about 11 pm near the T-junction in Balanagar. Residents noticed the body and alerted the police in the early hours of Tuesday. Personnel from the Balanagar police station rushed to the spot and informed the electricity department.
“Officials from the electricity department inspected the spot and confirmed that an electrical leakage from the sugarcane juice shop had caused the fatal accident. The victim apparently touched the door of the juice shop and was electrocuted,” a Balanagar police official said.
The body was shifted to Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem examination. Police have registered a case and launched efforts to establish the identity of the deceased.
