A Lebanese legislator from Hezbollah’s political wing says US President Donald Trump unwillingly acknowledged Iran’s influential role in international equations and admitted that the Islamic Republic is a key player on the global stage.
“Trump has repeatedly been forced to retreat from his absurd threats against Iran,” Ihab Hamadeh, a member of the Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc, stated.
“His latest remarks that had agreed to cancel a threatened attack on Iran ‘for the future benefit of the WORLD and, likewise, the survival of a successful and prosperous Iran’, explicitly demonstrate that any military aggression war against Iran will jeopardize the entire world,” he said.
Hamadeh noted that such comments prove that Iran is an important player on the global stage, and its upshot throughout the region and particularly in Lebanon will be experienced in the coming days.
“We will not allow the Zionist enemy to invade the Lebanese territory and continue its violations as it did in the 15-month ceasefire period following the ceasefire agreement of November 27, 2024,” he said.
Patience has limits, he said, “and when those limits are crossed, restraint gives way to action. Hezbollah resistance fighters remain steadfast and are ready to stand in the field.”
He emphasized that Lebanon will attain its set goals, and will never move in the direction of Zionists.
Hamadeh concluded that Israeli-occupied territories will be liberated and victory is certain, regardless of all pains and sufferings that the Lebanese nation would have to endure, tremendous sacrifices they would have to make, and the high price they would have to pay for freedom and independence.
Trump has said recently that he had called off planned military actions against Iran, noting that this choice was associated with progress in negotiations and contingent upon the potential for a quick deal.
He also claimed that Iran and “other Middle Eastern nations” had urged him to abstain from conducting the strikes.
Ahead of Trump’s announcement, reports indicate that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman raised concerns in a telephone discussion with the US president about the likelihood of renewed American strikes on Iran, warning that such measures could heighten tensions in the region.
